 Abstract
Document Management Systems (DMS) is the use
of a computer system and software to store, manage
and track electronic documents and images.
Document management is how your organization
stores, manages and tracks its electronic documents.
Document Management System is an efficient, time
saving and easy way to report, view and control the
version of a file.
Reputable and highly operational organizations do
handle countless of documents, spread sheets, and
presentations per day. Their staff members create,
edit and share unlimited offers, statements and
agreements daily. Maintaining this much amount of
work needs an automotive arrangement to ensure
safety and accuracy. Generating such a massive
amount of contents daily and working together with
other staff members to co-author the same record
needs safety and compliance. With a quality
document management system (DMS) both safety
and obedience can be guaranteed.
Nowadays we have a number of online file
management systems (e.g. Drop Box, SkyDrive and
Google Drive). People can use them to manage
different types of documents. However, one might
need a system to manage documents when they do
not want to publish the company documents to the
cloud. In that case, they need to build an online
document management system. This project is
intended to meet this purpose. However, it is in the
early stage. All the functionalities seem working. A
lot of work is needed in the UI and new features are
to be added.
The project entitled “Document Management System” is a
web application developed in ASP.NET to create software
for managing files by providing a web solution for them.
The web solution provides facility for manipulating the
internal operation of the firm.

The goal of this project is to design and develop a document

management system to fill existing gaps in the electronic
management of documents.
