GENERAL TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

I. 1 OVERVIEW AND COMPETITION

● INDIAN SUERKARTING SERIES-2 challenges teams of undergraduate and graduate students

to conceive, design, fabricate, develop and compete with small, formula style, vehicles. To
give teams the maximum design flexibility and the freedom to express their creativity and
imaginations there are very few restrictions on the overall vehicle design. The challenge to
teams is to develop a vehicle that can successfully compete in all the events described in the
E-ISS- 2 2k19 Rulebook. The competition give teams the chance to demonstrate and prove
both their creativity and their engineering skills in comparison to teams from other universities
around the nation.

● Vehicle Design Objectives

For the purpose of E-ISS- 2 2k19 competition is to make the teams realize that they are
Working for a design firm that is designing, fabricating, testing and demonstrating a
Prototype vehicle for the non-professional, weekend, competition market. The vehicle should
have very high performance in terms of acceleration, braking and handling and be sufficiently
durable to successfully complete all the events described in the E-ISS- 2 2K19 Rulebook which
are going to take place at the dynamic round. Additional design factors to be considered
include: aesthetics, cost, ergonomics, maintainability, manufacturability, and reliability.
Once the vehicle has been completed and tested, your design firm will attempt to "sell" the
design to a "corporation" that is considering the production of a competition vehicle. The
challenge to the design team is to develop a prototype car that best meets the E-ISS- 2 2K19
vehicle design goals and which can be profitably marketed. Each design will be judged and
evaluated against other competing designs to determine
The best overall car.

● Good Engineering Practices

Vehicles entered into E-ISS- 2 2K19competition are expected to be designed and fabricated in
Accordance with good engineering practices.
● Judging Categories

The Karts are judged in a series of static and dynamic events including: technical inspection,
cost, presentation, and engineering design, solo performance trials, Rally Race and high
performance track endurance. The dynamic events are scored to determine how well the kart
performs. Each dynamic event has specified minimum acceptable performance levels that are
reflected in the scoring equations.

I. 2 REGISTRATION POLICY AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

● For teams to make trade off decisions between content and cost based on the performance
advantage of each part and assembly.
● To gain experience with creating and maintaining a bill of material commonly known as BOM.
● To enhance the knowledge of the principles of lean manufacturing. Design for manufacturing and
assembly and minimum constraint design.
● Report must have list of each and every component used whether it is in-house fabricated or a
purchased OEM product with its current market/purchased price on the bill.
● Report Format will be mailed on the team e-mail id. a month prior of the submission

III. 6 Innovation

● It is mandatory to have any innovation related to Automobile vehicles.

● Teams are allowed to have any type of Mechanical as well as Electrical innovation.
● Practically working as well as Theoretical Innovation system will be eligible for the test.
● Only three members are allowed to present the innovation.

IV. 4 Business Plan

● The main aim of Business plan test is to develop a skill in the participants of considering all the
aspects used before and during manufacturing a new product in a company.
● Judges expect participants to make all the possible logical cases by which one can sell a new product
in the market, even to the non-technical customers.
● Design Methodology is the key factor to explain the process and product completely
● Teams must consider the market and business strategy of the product.
● Cost Analysis should also be mentioned in the presentation.
IV. 5 Vehicle Weight Check

● Weight plays a very important role in the performance of that vehicle. Performance of any vehicle is
technically considered to be its Power to Weight Ratio.
● Teams should set a target weight before starting the Design and Fabrication work.
● Weight distribution should be appropriate.
● Weight check would be done by using four weighing machines, one under each tire.
● Team members are also expected to explain any of the calculation or assumption taken using logical
as well as technical terms.
● Judges and E-ISS- 2 2K19Technical Head have all the rights to invalid the T.I. OK and send the vehicle
