The course content is guided by our textbook The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and
Twos. Our textbook is divided into two separate volumes. We will be utilizing volume one: The
Foundations for Units 1-Units 5.
Instructions: For U4 you are required to read chapter four of the volume one textbook pages
104-138
Objectives: By the end of your reading you will be able to:

 Identify ways to build relationships through caregiving practices.


 Identify strategies to promote children self regulations
 Identify appropriate responses to challenging behaviors
 Demonstrate understanding of how to guide children's behaviors

Briefly describe in you own words how this process supports all 4 developmental

2. Clothing also has social and cultural significance to children and families. What do you
believe centers can do make sure all families feel how they dress their children is
acceptable. How should teachers talk to children about the clothes they were to
school?

Instructions

1. After reading the chapter Sleeping and Nap Time


2. Create a one page handout/flier that you feel would be useful to parents and caregivers on
sleeping and nap time routines.
