Let us have a review of what is a noun


. Call any volunteer
Say: There are plural forms of regular nouns and irregular nouns. Today,
we will tackle the plural form of regular nouns.

Show the class different pictures/objects.

B. Activity
Let the class recall the story “A Cake for Kate.”
Ask: Can you remember the things that Kate saw in the big box? How
many items are inside the box? Name them.

C. Analysis
Draw two columns on the board. Then ask the class to study the pictures.
Ask volunteers to write the names of the pictures on the board. Guide
them in writing the words in appropriate column.
Refer to LM, p. 9 – Find Out and Learn.

1. What do you call the words you wrote?


2. Do they show more than one noun?
3. What do you call a noun which is more than one?
4. What letter or letters are added to the noun to mean more than one?
5. How do nouns in column A form their plural?
6. How do the nouns in column B form their plural?

How many nouns are there in each picture?

D. Abstraction
Nouns which are more than one are called plural nouns.
Nouns that form their plural by adding –s or –es are called regular nouns.
