EOL Quality Defects Identification
Gauge can successfully identify the following defects at EOL assembly / sub-assembly stage:

 Bosch: Starter Motor Auto-Assembly Line
Problem: Identify failure modes of starter motor related to bearing, gear tooth profile, rotor unbalance, etc. at EOL test station

Shortcomings in existing system:

● Failure modes such as bearing faults, machining runout, impulsive hits, rotor rub, unbalance are missed
● Manual testing upto 300% is needed, no interlocking with assembly line leading to leakage of defects

Solution with Noviga Fractal: Accelerometers (V, H) Microphone @ 50mm

● Vibration measurement hardware was added to
the auto-line and connected to Fractal.
● Fractal’s vibration data analysis and interlock with
the auto-line meant 100% testing and accurate
defect identification. An immediate reduction in
parts rejected at OEM’s end by 100%. No
defective parts sent to OEM.
