Introduction

Last May 2-4, 2019, college of business and accountancy- student government
held its 2nd CBA Alliance Cup with the theme “Fastening Camaraderie and Unity through
Sports” at University of Batangas Gymnasium. The purpose of the event is to geared
wellness and fitness programs. To highlight talents in developing appreciation for healthy
competition and to promote an excellent venue to foster camaraderie among co-students
in the department.

Objectives

Sports build strong bonds within the organization as they give themselves time to
relax from academic matters. The main goal of this event is to make interaction with one
another in the manner of sports. To provide fun, safe and structured play experiences
that promote the physical, mental and social development of every students. To build
unity friendship and rapport among students. Especially, to display everyone’s capabilities
not just in academics but also in cultural manner.

Coordination

The said event would not be possible without the heart and hands of the CBA
Student Government, who is delightedly, pursued the program and organized everything.
The students of college and business and accountancy that willingly partake to every
sports provided by the organization. For without them, the objectives of this year’s sports
fest would not be achieve. Also, the support of the faculty members and Dr. Nina B.
Macarandang, the CBA dean.
Proceedings

CBA sports fest was a 3 days event, it is held last May 2-4, 2019 at University of
Batangas Gymnasium. On the first day, there was a parade started at 2:00 in the
afternoon. After the registration per organization, the program started by the invocation
and the national anthem led by Ms. Abi Miraflor. She sang a beautiful song that touched
everyone’s heart and soul. The Executive Vice President of the University of Batangas
Student Government, Mr. Joseph Emmanuel Bathan, gave the opening remarks. After
that overwhelming remark, Mr. Jan Karl Caraan headed the pledge for honesty and
obedience before playing each game along with other players. The program would not be
perfect without showcasing the muses and escorts chosen to represent their organization,
we have from Financial Management, Accountancy, Business Management, Human
Resource Management and the collaboration of Accounting Management, Marketing
Management and Office Administration. In accessing beauty and talents, the best muse
were from Business Management Major and the escort were from Accountancy. After the
search for best muse and escort, here comes the highlight of the program, which is the
lighting of the torch. To show the rapport relationship in the beginning of the event, the
new elected President of University of Batangas Student Government, Mr. John Paul
Bagsit take over the torch then passed it on to the seven organizational presidents up to
the current CBA Governor, Miss Krianne Fedelin. Moreover, the program ends that way
but the games formally starts by sack race with the twist by the organizational presidents.
After knowing the winners, patintero and tug of war were played. Winners are both from
Accountancy and Business Management Majors. The first day became a successful one.
On the next day, the games were Basketball, Volleyball, dodgeball and badminton. Each
game were played as round robin formula. The scores between team became crucial for
they are competing to be the most active and valuable organization. Same goes to third
day, after all the games played, awarding is done at exactly 4:30 in the afternoon. We
have new sets of MVP each game and cash prizes were given. For the best and most
active organization, JPIA or the Accountancy Majors won the title. Afterwards, since the
event was over, students also participates in cleaning the used areas and the sports
materials were properly placed in the sports team building. By that, we can say that
somehow the objectives are reached. Not all became winners but the relaxation were
achieved. The new elected President of UB Student Government, Mr. John Paul Bagsit,
gave the closing remarks.

Conclusion

In overall assessment after the event, I can say that the objectives were met. I saw
the rapport relationship build by my co-students while participating in the games. The fact
that after the event students come and join in cleaning the areas used in playing especially
the gymnasium. Also, students joined from day one until the end. That is one great proof
that the objectives met. The faces of acceptance whether they won or not. By that, I can
say that the friendship build was true and unity prosper. It may became hard for the
committees but seeing my co-students enjoying and showcasing their capabilities were
enough to say that it is paid off and worth it.

Recommendation

After observation, I can say that there is one thing that CBA-SG should hold and
maintain, that is the commitments in the duties assigned to them. I saw that they are only
few dealing with us with a huge number. Moreover, the fact that they lack on committees
holding each games. Then, for me they held the event properly. They made it sure that
there is no conflict between students playing and even to themselves managing. I can
say that they have done their part as the role models and student leaders. This is just my
insight, nonetheless everything was good and on the process.
Reflection

In dealing with stress, relaxation is important. After the event, it gives me

realization that academic matters but we should also be actively participating in cultural.
Why? Because we should not just good in books but also in handling our health and
ourselves as a whole. Building camaraderie and rapport relationship can foster health in
socialization, mental and physical issues. I thank CBA-SG for promoting this event that
will surely be adopted by the next student leaders. In sports fest we don’t build talents but
family.
