Emerging Uses of Technology in Language Teaching and Learning

There are two main ways to think about technology for language learning:
technology as providing teaching resources and technology as providing enhanced
learning experiences. This is not only an era of knowledge explosion, but also a variety
of teaching methods of the century. How to help students adapt to this era of rapid
changing has been an urgent matter. Teaching English is no longer a traditional way of
teaching. Moreover, the use of network resources or video media to improve the
teaching effect has been more and more attention and adoption. Also, there are some of
the most convenient aspects of network resources that can provide English teaching at
present such as electronic presentations. If the students use PowerPoint to do briefing
assignments, they can replace the traditional huge printing or board book, in addition,
students' excellent works can also become a source of teaching materials, to give
students a high degree of affirmation. The role of the teacher is to plan activities that
students accomplish via technological means. The students' role is to be actively
involved in using the language, in taking risked with the language by connecting with
others, and in exploring information via the target language.

Reflection
Thanks to the progress of science and technology, English teaching has been
livelier and more innovative than in the past. Learning English is not limited by time
and space, always can learn everywhere. However, language is the product of
interpersonal interaction, and teachers still have an irreplaceable position in guiding
students' language training. The significance of the integration of information
technology into English teaching lies in the cooperation between individual specialties,
so that science and technology can improve the effectiveness of English teaching.
English teaching needs to stimulate the progress of relevant scientific and technological
information. More importantly, teachers and students will be able to gradually
implement the integration of learning and display multiple intelligence. Emerging uses
of technology in language teaching and learning is a way to expression of
communication and sharing. Also, it is the way to active exploration and research.
