Marketing 310.001
March 29, 2018
Problems
● Not offering a complete service, lack of food
● No decorations in the party rooms
● No company work attire
● There is not a form of consistency in customer service, it is not practical but
rather confusing
● Signage is lacking
● Presentation as well as location of the food and other objects is unorganized.
● There is not any publicity
● There is need for advertising
● There is need for sales promotion

Executive Summary
❖ Incorporate fast food option (i.e - Snack Bar) such as hot dogs, nachos, sliders
(mini burgers), corn dogs, etc.1
❖ Revamp the rooms with different color paint, incorporate a simple inexpensive
design scheme. The rooms may also be divided into gender neutral color, a boy
or girl theme, even and adult color scheme. Something kids are more attracted to
and adults are encouraged to try
❖ Incorporate uniform as simple as a black shirt and cap with the Slacker’s logo to
get a sense of cohesiveness 2
❖ The presentation of food and snacks and prizes can be placed strategically and
can be arranged as to give a sense of organization
❖ Customer service, for instance, booking birthday parties, prices and bundle
prices/packages could be presented on a paper. Also, listing the price
comparisons and difference between packages.Paper may include contact
information, slogan to be a portable form of advertising. Even presenting pictures
of parties on a binder
❖ Investing in a banner to upgrade the attraction/ aesthetics of the facility 3
❖ The company may start to share their mission behind running the entertainment
center, as it is a very noble thing to do, adjusting prices for families
❖ Flyers may be passed out such as in schools and churches and family events 4
❖ Sales promotions may be offered to school field trips and/ or other incentive to
share with frequent customers to spread the word
Target Market

This marketing plan was designed to reach children, teens, youngsters “tweens”

as well as adults as it is a family place and our team would like to honor and pay

homage to one of the few industries that respects family time gathering.

Product

Arcades, laser tags, family centers all across the nation are bound to have food. If we

take a closer look at the way Peter Piper Pizza, Dave & Buster’s, and Chuck E. Cheese

operate; they all have food alongside other services that they provide. It is simply

impractical to be playing, having a fantastic time and have you or your child be hungry

in the middle of the time paid for and having to satiate hunger with snacks. Being

hungry simply puts people in a bad mood. The establishment would greatly benefit from

reinstating the food service, which is temporarily suspended. Implementing the ability to

eat while children and adults encourages the prolonged stay of guests. Snacks such as

chips, popcorn, soft drinks are a fantastic start, we propose to take it a step further and

include a simple yet satisfying typical arcade/ family center menu items. These menu

items may include but are not limited to pizza slices, personal pizzas, corn-dogs,

hamburger sliders, hot-dogs, wings, popcorn chicken, salad bar, wraps, sandwiches.

We also suggest taking snacks to another level nachos with cheese, hot cheetos with

cheese, brownies, ice cream, cupcakes, cookies. These items are also great for profit!

Where a company can make anywhere between 50%-183%1.

The Birthday rooms are a considerable attraction of the business, that is in the state

which they find themselves in. We propose to revamp the rooms by investing a small

amount in aesthetics. Decorating each one in a different manner as to accommodate

your target market. We suggest one room being a glow party room, to parallel the

sensational experience clients get when playing within the marvelous Laser Tag room.

Complete with black paint and neon splashes of colors childrens are bound to love,

swapping the blankets for a black curtain to divide the rooms. The other room could be

modeled to attract young women as well as mothers and also tie in the super cool lazy

creek mine attraction. Opting for the same paint color on the sides of the beach themed

room, investing in a picture frame and black curtains. We go further into proposing a

room even men and father’s feel obliged to try as it winks in the direction of the arcade

fun! Painting the walls a dark red almost burgundy color and a set of canvas frames to

give it a city look with lights and black curtains to divide the rooms. The budget consists

of Room 1: Black paint $31.98 available in Home Depot, the neon paint at a cost of

$4.50 available in Michael’s, Neon Sign $14.99 available on Amazon. Room 2: Beige

Paint $29.97 available in Dome Depot, Canvas frames $7.99 and $29.99 available in

Burlington. Room 3: Burgundy paint $8.46 available in Home Depot, and a wall art

frame $49.99 available in Amazon. Finally all three rooms will need black curtains

$20.99 each one available at Anna Linens and 3 Bar tensions available for the bundle

price of $10.99 available in Amazon. All costs to a grand total of $251.83. We

understand the Aesthetics budget is of 500$ due to the varying costs of items we left a
portion to be considered in case of inflation and labor cost to install frames and paint

rooms. Please refer to Appendix A.

Furthermore, we find that in order to increase the professionalism of the facility a simple

uniform would bring cohesiveness to the already booming business. This impacts at a

unconscious level of the customer and potential customer. It gives an extra push in the

direction we understand Slacker’s wants to ultimately achieve, the aura of an emerging

empire of family fun facilities. We strongly recommend instilling a black shirt with the

“Slacker’s” logo as well as a cap that can be worn with jeans or black slackers, up to

your discretion. We believe this implements strong team building, brand recognition, as

well as free marketing opportunity when the product is worn in public by the employee 2 .

Our group is delighted to present you a perfect option, CustomInk LLC. The budget is

as follows: Slackers T- Shirt $24.35 each, 12 shirts for a total $292.20. Slackers caps

are $25.73 each a minimum of 12 cap order for a total of 308.76. A grand total of

$600.96. Please refer to Appendix B.

Finally, Slacker’s Family Fun Center handles an extensive array of activities, while

choosing a package we noticed clients may feel overwhelmed with the information. As

such we propose to present a binder with birthday party rates, bundle prices while listing

the price comparisons between packages. This compile of papers may also showcase

the captured moments of wonderful family fun! The budget for consists of sheet
protectors $1.48 and a black binder $2.36, both available in Walmart for a total cost of

$3.84. Please refer to Appendix C.

Place- Distribution

First impressions are everything, as a business you have seconds to demonstrate your

strengths and reel in customers. The location of Slacker’s is within Orchards Mall which

would officially give you the crown of business with a banner. We opted for a banner

rather than a sign because we understand your plans to possibly relocating. When

walking in, seeing the brightly colored banner that greets the customer along with the

gigantic bouncy houses will only intrigue the client to see more, ultimately inviting them

inside. In doing this it creates instant recognition which is the strong business pillars as

stated by BBC 3 . The next thing they would see would be the person wearing a fun

slackers uniform greeting them with a smile to a clean and organized reception. Eager

to show the magnificent facility! Budget for banner is $116 for a 4’ x 10’ size, available

at Vista Print. We also recommend placing a frame in the entrance of the arcade to

display a City wall canvas $399.99 available at iCanvas.com to add a feeling of

synthesis among the party room and the arcade. Please refer to Appendix D.

To continue our plan to help maximize the true potential we observe within Slacker’s,

we determined an inexpensive and simple solution to boost sales. It consists of

strategically placing snacks, prizes, and other projects with purpose. We observed the
certain objects within the facility that do not contribute to the services, we strongly

advise to remove them, such as the refrigerator in the middle of the mini food court

area. The area of prizes would greatly benefit from arranging prizes in a manner that

looks appealing to children, even if just saturating the area with more prizes, the

children should feel excited about winning tokens to rush to the prize showcase. We

even recommend going to Dollar General and stocking up for little expensive token

prizes with a budget of $500. For more token expensive prizes we recommend going to

Walmart and purchasing $500 worth of clearance items including but not limited

watches (female and male, youth and kids) jewelry, piggy banks, fidget spinners and

action figures, giant teddy bears, a small bike, even if its just to showcase, the

excitement and anticipation of possibly winning a bike will motivate children to keep

coming back.

Price

Slackers already has an immense advantage in allocating friendly prices. There is not

much to deviate from or improve on as we completely respect the business decision of

setting fair prices at which families all across the Berrien County may enjoy.

Promotion

Publicity is lacking in Slacker’s, therefore we strongly recommend attending at events

where you can speak about your business and get your name out. It is a very noble
manner of conducting business, adjusting fair prices so that families may have the

opportunity to spend time and create memories. Encouraging bonding with loved ones

is a lost art in many places. Our team has the strong conviction that Rick Burch is the

perfect spokesperson for this as he is the embodiment of the values that Slacker’s

strives to uphold!

As for advertising we salute the efforts on Facebook and raise you to a Radio

advertisement. Ads can be purchased as low as $26.00 on local radio. We believe that

spreading your name like wildfire is the way to go. We recommend trying it out for a

total of cost of 15 times through Gaebler.com We are thrilled to present you our mini

script. Please refer to Appendix F.

Finally, we propose in using the flyers to advertise and spread the word on sales

promotions that you may have. We recommend distributing the flyers we have

designed, you may pin them on billboards in the establishments of your choosing.

Or handing them out to churches, schools and places such as Boys’ and Girls’ clubs

and other family events where they can perhaps benefit from large party price

packages. We also suggest taking the flyer to places where you may consider

partnering with food catering for birthday parties. We suggest that they keep our design

scheme as its proven most effective when characteristics match both the intended party

and business 4 . For a 12x18” (pack of 100), Slackers could get glossy texture covered
flyer for a cost of $69.95. The bright colors used in this flyer draws attention to the

company and communicate the playfulness of the industry! Available at Postermywall.
