Problem statement

Water pollution has been a serious problem in the city of bacoor for very long time. Even
though the city of bacoor had the lowest waterborne diseases incident according to the 2002-
2015 SOC(state of coast) report of Cavite province the fishery industry of bacoor are taking
damage endangering the livelihood of those who lives near the coastal area of bacoor

Many have proposed different methods and ordinances to try fix and control the water pollution
in the bacoor shorelines. the most latest of these is the clean -up drive hosted by DENR.

Bacoor is a progressive and rich city specially in its water resources but if we don’t take action
for the growing problem of water pollution this rich resource will be totally destroyed

Causes
The common causes of water pollution in bacoor city are the illegal dumping of trash in the river
over the years creating a perfect environment for bad bacteria’s to grow exponentially illegal
plumbing lines connecting directly to the river is also accountable for polluting the rivers in
coastal areas in bacoor.

Solutions
water is known to pure and clean because it is entirely composed of atoms of hydrogen and
oxygen but because of organic matter getting mixed in its composition recycling water can’t be
done naturally luckily man made machine and methods have been invented to help nature
recycling water.

The process of water may have a little differences in various location based on how polluted the
water in an area that is needed to be treated is meaning we can’t use the same methods used
in other municipalities in recycling water in bacoor but instead we will use a more sustainable
and efficient way in clearing and recycling the polluted water in bacoor city.

The first phase of phase or recycling water in bacoor city is creating a sewage treatment plant
where all the polluted water will have to passed through to be filtered from contaminants organic
and in-organic. From sewage treatment plant the polluted will be undergoing stages of de
contaminating process.

The first part of recycling is the screening process where all the large objects that may damage
the recycling equipments are remove.

Second is separating human waste from the water by moving the wastewater into large
settlement tanks where solid waste goes under.
The third stage is killing the microscopic bacteria’s by putting the wastewater in tanks called
“aeration lanes” and boosting the good bacteria’s with air pumped into the waste water
encouraging the good bacteria to eat the bad bacteria’s the more the good bacteria’s eat the
faster they would multiply.

In the last the water will be passing through final settlement tank where the good bacteria’s
sinks to the bottom and will be in a form of sludge and the recycled water is now on the top the
settlement tank and ready to be returned to the river while passing slowly through a bed of sand
that acts as a natural filters. note that there is a need for additional treatment depending on how
sensitive the river where the treated water will be returned to.

The quality of treated water will be strictly regulated by local agencies to make sure that it is
high quality.

New technologies in water treatment will be used in recycling the waters from rivers and coastal
area in the coming years such activated organic filters that are useful in removing bad taste and
odour in waste making the water useful for daily basis. Activated organic filters if effective used
can also eliminate a wide range of organic chemicals like pesticide and other dangerous
chemicals. Using ultra violet rays and ozonation methods are also being considered to eradicate
bacteria’s and viruses that can be transferred in the water lowering the waterborne diseases
that might endanger the lives of people who lives near the rivers. The last is using draining nets
to east catch organic solid materials passing through drainage system lessening the strain and
stress on recycling equipments.
