looks like i won't be installing it just yet, as i only have 4gb of ram.

are the products (live shape, part design, mold design...) functionally still the same or have there been changes too?

how much ram does it need for Server + Client (while working in the client)?
8gb at least?

Just a clarification. 1200sec to start is a fragmented HDD, unfragmented HDD goes 300-400 sec, HDD RAID - 120 sec,
SSD- 90 sec.

Installation time - 5.5 hours for oracle + RACE 12 hours Oracle + full centrals (all checkmarks selected)

Natural Sketch present, 3dvia abandoned.

6GB RAM for server is enough (2048 for Oracle and 1536 for Tomcat), client requires decent GPU and consumes up to
900MB RAM alone.

Hi gellmar, 3dvia abandoned? Means 3DVia Composer is not available on R2014x?

It means the PLMNav3D.exe shows the error stating it is not included in 3DEXPERIENCE anymore....

Installing the last 10 hours. Once I interrupted so I started again. I changed the default password. Problem..... to wait
another 10 hours to see if it will complete this step ....

So, firstly big thanks.

Secondly, as I had an existing 2013x installation with test data inside it, I wanted to upgrade the existing installation & had

to manually install 2014x, and doing so fondly remembering how manual the 2013x installation was.
Anyhow, manully running 20-30 install packages, and reusing Matrix-R bootstrap ended with a functional install. But no
licenses

are given from server to Enovia/weblogin or rich client V6. And it is seemingly not fw related.

I see that;
a) the licensemanager is SQ-coded, using some java trix, and apart from previos versions defaults to x86-code.
b) enrolling licenses manually as before works, no errors
c) opening firewall completely, but all dslschk.exe states *not connected"
d) restarting the adminGUI into the license manager always starts as not connected, need to manually doubleclick to see

e) running the mql-command to modify user licenses ends without errors, perhaps due to PLMADM instead of 'PLMADM', I
have

modified and run both against the db using mql.exe, to no different result.
f) errors are subsequently given in apache logs during test login to Enovia "
g) my existing db had some test users, and modifying the assign_license.mql to match existing users finished without
error,

manually running the mql command reveals that indeed the users are assigned to a certain license
h) netapi32.dll files are copied to both server & client. Client side netapi32.dll does exist, but the server side do not,

since it is to be copied into the tomcat directory which you begin to xcopy in your script. I havent figured out when this

server side netapi32.dll is supposed to be created, it isn't there, until the bat copies it there...

I also tried installing DS's latest license server, and they do not support network-based hostid's so the license-generator

produces inconsistent license keys.

So basically, I've read your script, and manually upgraded existing installation, since I remembered how since 2013x.
But I cannot get the license manager to stay "connected", and licenses are not served to the requesting side.

Figured out a bit more of why licenses gave me trouble.
Turns out the netapi32.dll should not exist in either client or server. It seem to be modifying some communication between
client and license server, validating licenses from the probably modified/compiled SQ-dslicensesever.

On a new client, installing V5-62014 & deploying licenses for that too using same license server, gave me the following
response prior netapi copying;

Needless to say, V5-6 started right up.

Back to V6, running mql & run assign_licenses.mql after modifying first rows to;
set context user creator;
modify product * remove person 'PLMADM';

modify product PRG add person 'PLMADM';

and doublechecking afterwards by trying to add again;

and once again, copyiong netapi32.dll into \TomEEPlus\bin folder, restarting ApacheTomcat service, logging into from
internetexplorer http://localhost:8070/enovia as Test Everything w blank password, made me enter.

So, using manual steps is ok too, if beautifully SQ-created script does fail for you.
So, I have not figured out why I failed in the first place, might has been as simple as restart of Tomcat after netapi32.dll
was copied.

Because you started TomEE before you copied netapi32 to its folder... how can it do the work if it is not loaded?

Could be. To be honest, I started by upgrading, that failed since I hadnt figured out the (manual) order to install all the
separate components. I had to wait for the CADconnector stuff to the last step, in order to have my (all-inclusive) 2013x to
update. Since that took some time, I started on another machine, from scratch, doing it step-by-step to be able to learn to
upgrade existing, I mean, I dont do this to run CatiaV6, I do it because its fun to learn. Once up & running, the fun goes
away.

Anyway, on the machine from scratch, I got it to work as mentioned in my update post. Due to time of day, I will try to get
my upgrade to work too.

It is a strange concept for hacks to add files, not modify existing. Now I kinda understand how this hack work.
I am impressed at the work you guys put in to create huge scripts to do all stuff automatically, and compiling your own
license stuff (I'm gussing here...) to get it to work.

V6 is a bastard however, all this Enovia stuff, which is fun to get to run, but is nofun to administer. Creating your own
users, assigning licences etc. Appreciate the assign_licenses.mql.

However, thanks for taking care of this forum Gellmar. If you did the scripts; kudos. Impressive to say the least.
I have it up & running, not recognizing ANYTHING from 2013x. The frnch guys are chaning everything for every release....

The scriupt you did, managing the installation of the separate components in the right order is something DS shouyld have
done from the start....

if i install enovia (or pdm express 2013x) in a virtualbox, do i need to install also the DSLS in thare?
i already have the DSLS installed on the host computer (for catia v5 and v6). is it also needed for enovia or is it just for
catia?

you are a certified Dassault CAD admin with a proposed salary equal to a family car per month....

(те что слева) провел проверку как рекомендовано, сервер лицензий видит (правда после перезагрузки компа
приходится его перезапускать и заново накатывать лицензии) на серверере лицензии видит, а вот где проблема я не
знаю. заранее спасибо.
