Fix a Problem

If you're having trouble logging into your Facebook account, here are some things you can try.

• Go to facebook.com/login/identify and follow the instructions. Make sure to use a computer or
mobile phone that you have previously used to log into your Facebook account.

account

Find out if your account is disabled
If your Facebook account has been disabled, you'll see a message saying your account is
disabled when you try to log in.

I signed up with my mobile number and now I can’t log in.

If you're having trouble logging in to Facebook with your mobile number, try these tips:

• Make sure to enter your entire mobile phone number, including the country code.

• Leave out any extra zeros, plus signs (+) or other special characters.

If you're still having trouble, you can try to recover your account:

• Go to facebook.com/login/identify and follow the instructions.

Facebook account.

I can't find my account from the "Find Your Account" page.

If you're having trouble logging into your account from the Find Your Account page, try these tips:

• Ask one of your Facebook friends to look at the About section of your profile and send you
the email or mobile phone number listed in the Contact Information section.

• Try entering every email or mobile number you've owned (one at a time). You may have
added an email or mobile number to your account and forgotten about it.

• Enter your username. Your username is your personalized Facebook URL:

If you don't know your username, ask a friend to go to your profile and send you the
username in the URL.

• Try entering variations of your name, just in case you signed up using a nickname.

• If you're asked to enter a friend's name, try a variety of friends if the first friend you try doesn't
locate an account. Remember to enter your friend's full name, not just their first name.

If you think your account was taken over by someone else, let us know.

I can't access my account because I don't recognize anyone in the photo security check.

This security check is designed to protect you from suspicious logins (such as logins from a
different computer or country). If you have trouble identifying your friends, please wait a few hours
and try again.

You can also try logging into your Facebook account from another device you've used before.

I have to enter a security code every time I log in.

When you're using two­factor authentication or getting alerts about logins we don't recognize, we
need to be able to remember your computer and web browser information so we can recognize it
the next time you try logging in. Some web browser features block this. If you turned on private
browsing or set up your browser to clear your history every time it closes, you might have to enter
a security code every time you log in. Learn more.

If your web browser includes a private browsing or incognito mode, using it to access
Facebook will usually cause this to happen after closing your browser window.

I can't reset my password because I've reached a password reset limit.

In order to keep your account safe, we only let you request a new password a certain number of
times each day.

Please wait 24 hours and then try to reset your password again. Also, check your email's spam or
junk folder.

You may be able to get back into your Facebook account by using an alternate email or mobile
phone number listed on your account. You may also be able to get help from friends.

1 Go to the Facebook login page and click Forgot account? in the top right.

2 If you don't see your account listed, fill out the form to identify your account.

3 Select a contact method listed on your account to have a password reset link sent to you. If
you can't access your emails or mobile phone number, click No longer have access to
these?

4 If you've previously set up these options, follow the instructions provided or get help from
friends.

If you're unable to reset your password directly on Facebook, try contacting your email service
provider to regain access using your email.

Once you get back into your account, you can change the login email on your account anytime in
your account settings.

Get Help From Friends
How can I contact the friends I've chosen as trusted contacts to get back into my account?

If you're locked out of your account, you can choose friends to be trusted contacts who can help
you get back into your account. To request help from your trusted contacts:

1 Click Forgot account? on the login page.

2 If prompted, find your account by entering your email, phone, username or full name and
click Search.

3 Look at the list of email addresses listed on your account. If you don't have access to any of
these, click No longer have access to these?

4 Enter a new email or phone that you know you can access and click Continue.

5 Click Reveal My Trusted Contacts and type the full name of one of your trusted contacts.

6 You'll see a set of instructions that includes a special URL. The URL contains a recovery
code that only your trusted contacts can access. Call your friends and give them the URL so
that they can open the link and give the security code to you.

7 Use the recovery codes from your trusted contacts to access your account.

Please be sure to call your friends or talk to them in person when asking for the special security
code. If your Facebook account was hacked, someone else could also have access to your email
account.

Here's what we suggest:

• If you're having trouble getting in touch with your friends, try calling them one more time.

• If one of your friends is having trouble getting the code, ask them to double check the link
(URL) is correct and try refreshing the page.
