was handed out to Strathmore High School’s
(SHS) 2017-18 recipient Adina Tarcea during a
short ceremony on June 12.
Page 19 The award is given to high school students
earning the highest overall average for the
combined academic subjects of English, math,
social studies and the students next highest

The award has recognized outstanding

“The award truly represents the highest ac-

extremely high standard that these student’s
set for themselves and what they are capable
of achieving,” said SHS principal Kyle Larson.
Tarcea, currently enrolled in the medical
sciences program at Western University in
London, Ont., hopes to pursue medicine fol-

Tarcea grew up in Romania where a strong
work ethic was instilled in her from a young

Local softball moms honoured Strathmore

The U16 Strathmore Thunder girls team dedicated their last home game of the season on June 17 to two women and softball moms who are special to
the team, assistant coach Kim Stanlake-Cammer and assistant coach and umpire Tanya Molnar. The two courageous and inspiring women have bravely
battled breast cancer and the team is honoured to have them as part of the team. To celebrate the dedicated game, special t-shirts were made up and a

YEAR ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2018
REPORT OF THE INDEPENDENT AUDITOR ON THE SUMMARY FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
To the Mayor and Members of Council of the Town of Strathmore,

Opinion

The summary financial statements, which comprise the summary statement of financial position as at December 31, 2018, the summary statement of operations and summary statement of changes in net financial assets for the year then ended,
and related notes, are derived from the audited financial statements of the Town of Strathmore for the year ended December 31, 2018. In our opinion, the accompanying summary financial statements are a fair summary of the audited financial
statements, in accordance with Canadian public sector accounting standards.

Summary Financial Statements

The summary financial statements do not contain all the disclosures required by Canadian public sector accounting standards. Reading the summary financial statements and the auditor's report thereon, therefore, is not a substitute for reading the
audited financial statements and the auditor's report thereon. The summary financial statements and the audited financial statements do not reflect the effects of events that occurred subsequent to the date of our report on the audited financial
statements.

The Audited Financial Statements and Our Report Thereon

We expressed an unmodified audit opinion on the audited financial statements in our report dated May 15, 2019.

Management's Responsibility for the Summary Financial Statements

Management is responsible for the preparation of a summary of the audited financial statements in accordance with the criteria as disclosed in note 1.

Auditor's Responsibility

Our responsibility is to express an opinion on whether the summary financial statements are a fair summary of the audited financial statements based on our procedures, which were conducted in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standard
(CAS) 810, "Engagements to Report on Summary Financial Statements."
