Uncoiler kit

Allows easy setting up of the KDP trunking by allowing the cable reel to be rolled. It can also be used with all standard roller type uncoilers.
It clips onto the packing spools and can be removed for re-use.

2 1 Uncoiler kit (8 parts)

2 Packing spools
3 Cable uncoiler (not supplied)

Run components

Carries the current and supplies the lighting units.

2 1

The run components consist of:

1 A flat ribbon cable conforming to standard IEC 60502-1 with 3 or 5 x 2.5 mm2 conductors, including one protective conductor. The copper
conductors are tinned to protect them against corrosion.
Canalis KDP is available in 24 or 192 metre reels. The 192 metre reel contains eight spools, which are clipped together and each contains
24 metres of cable. For easy installation and in order to be able to use the uncoiler kit (see above), it is recommended that KDP be supplied
in multiples of 24 metres.
# As an option (code X), a halogen-free version of KDP is available.

2 Tap-off contact studs, positioned at 1.5 or 3 metre intervals.

These are factory fitted, can receive all tap-off units in the KBA and KBB ranges and ensure electrical connection of the tap-off units.
The degree of protection of the assembly is IP 54.
All the insulating and plastic materials used have increased fire resistance : resistance to incandescent wire test conforming to IEC 695-2-1 :
- 850 °C for parts in contact with live components,
- 650 °C for other parts.
KDP is certified to be non flame-propagating, in accordance with standard IEC 60331-1

The whole system conforms to standard IEC 60439-2

Feed units and end covers

To supply a Canalis KDP run After having stripped the KDP cable, the connection is
made by means of a screw terminal for copper cable
with a maximum c.s.a. of 4 mm 2.
These components are fitted with a PG 16 cable gland.
They are locked in the closed position by a screw. They
can be used to supply the run from the RH or LH side
and for butt-jointing two KDP runs. Each feed unit is
supplied with an end cover for the opposite end of the
run.

Option X : halogen-free version

Insulating materials and electrical cable and conductor sheaths which contain halogens
(chlorine, bromide...) give off opaque, toxic and corrosive fumes on combustion, in the
event of a fire.
These fumes can cause panic, hamper rescue operations and cause poisoning and
serious damage to electronic and computer equipment.
The halogen-free version of KDP eliminates these risks.

Applications

“Halogen-free” KDP is for customers and drawing offices who wish to specify this
characteristic for increased protection of personnel and objects :

- In buildings used by the public and tall buildings.

- In industrial buildings with large amounts of electronic and/or computer equipment.

Characteristics and certifications

Halogen-free KDP is certified as follows :

- non-propagation of flames or fire conforming to 60 332-1 and IEC 60 332-3.

- opacity of fumes conforming to 61 034-1 and IEC 61 034-2.
- toxicity and corrosiveness of fumes conforming to IEC 60 754-1 and IEC 60 754-2.

Special equipment

Run components
All 2 and 4-pole ranges, with tap-offs at 1.5 or 3 metre intervals, in 24 or 192 metre
lengths, are available in “halogen-free” version.

Accessories
All insulating materials and plastic parts used for accessories (feed unit, fixings,
etc...) have no components which contain halogens in their standard version.

Tap-offs
Tap-offs must be made by means of terminal connectors (with or without fuses) fitted,
by the system builder, with an LSOH cable to be connected to tap-off unit KBC-
10CB20 or KBC-16////.
Pre-wired tap-off units KBC-10CC211 cannot be used.

Prefabricated leads
With splitter blocks KBZ-32BA12/15, leads based on an LSOH cable and spring
connectors KBZ-32PFR2 and KBZ-32PMR2, will be made up by the system builder.
