2nd  Home  Visit:  Willa

The  second  home  visit  with  Willa’s  parents  went  really  well.  It  was  a  lot  more

comfortable  than  the  first.  The  first  time,  they  were  less  talkative,  but  this  time  they

were  really  excited  and  more  open.  We  discussed  Willa  and  how  she  is  doing  in  lab.

They  have  noticed  some  improvements  in  Willa  using  more  words.  They  wanted  to

continue  to  work  on  that  goal  with  her.  We  discussed  how  much  Willa  loves  sensory

activities  and  feeling  things  on  her  hands,  and  going  on  the  slide.  Willa’s  mom  stays

almost  every  time  and  watches  her.  As  we  asked  about  how  we  could  improve

Willa’s  experience,  she  asked  that  we  try  to  invite  Willa  to  the  flop  and  drop  area

more  often.  She  loves  books  at  home,  but  for  some  reason  has  not  ventured  into  that

area  very  much  at  lab.  So  we  are  going  to  work  on  that.

They  have  really  enjoyed  lab  and  it  has  been  really  exciting  for  them  to  see

how  much  Willa  enjoys  it  as  well.  We  were  also  able  to  go  over  more  of  the

developmental  checklist  and  fill  a  couple  more  things  out.  Willa  was  also  there

during  the  home  visit.  During  the  visit  we  were  able  to  interact  with  her  and  help

her  build  towers  with  magnetic  blocks.  She  was  excited  to  build  and  knock  it  down.

It  was  a  very  nice  visit  where  we  were  able  to  better  connect  with  the  family

and  Willa.  They  were  excited  to  continue  forward  with  the  semester  and  continue  to

see  what  new  activities  Willa  would  be  introduced  to.
