EXERCISES

Before the seminar, please read the chapter in the textbook. Think about what you read in
relation to what was covered in the introductory lecture, and identify any issues or clarifications
you want to raise in class.

Task 1: Introduction and Ice Breaker

You will find out a little about your instructor and your seminar class.

Task 2: Team Formation, Team Game & Team Contracts

a. Your instructor will help you form teams of four or five students each. These teams will work
together throughout semester, and produce one team-based assessment item.
b. You will take part in a team game in order to get to know each other better. Have fun!
c. You will also learn about the importance of the Team Contract (which should be submitted at
the beginning of the next seminar)

Task 3: Team Exercise 2.6 (MVG p. 62): Ethics Dilemma Vignettes

Before the seminar, please read the scenarios and decide on the extent to which the company’s
actions were ethical in each case. Use the ethical principles and other considerations (e.g., moral
intensity) discussed in MVG Ch 2.

In the seminar, you will discuss these reflections in your team and share your own ideas about
ethical behavior in organizations. Your instructor will randomly choose groups to share their
main points with the rest of the class, so be prepared!

In the seminar, you will discuss your answers in your team and your instructor will randomly
