The world is a freelance arena, everything is possible, everybody is welcome. In the

world where everything is changing except change itself, anything will always possible to
happen. Hence, all the living organisms especially the human, must have the control to adapt
and to manage all those changes. Since human is the highest form of animal because of his/her
incredible intelligence, he/she can invent, innovate, and transform something that will help
him/her to cope up with changing environment. These inventions may go on two important
facets: (1) it will benefit the world; or (2) it may harm the world. Therefore, humans must be
accountable for whatever consequences it may take.
Humans are born to be explorer because they want to find something that can help them
to make their work easier. And that is where technological advancement ought to be born.
Technology is defined as the collection of techniques, skills, methods, and processes
used in the production of good or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as
scientific investigation. In modern era, people are mostly exposed with technologies because
they help them to make the work faster and easier. Technologies are contagious, they are
widespread. You can see them in communication, transportation, education, business
transactions, environmental concerns, and even in global competitiveness. The birth of virtual
age has boomed during the 21st century, where youngsters, aging from 10-19 has started to
expose themselves from different gadgets. This is why they are being regarded as “digital
natives” or “screenagers”, because most of them are always in front of screens. But, we cannot
also deny the fact that technologies have eased our burden. It became a part of our daily
activities because it doesn’t give hustle, like cellular phones.
Communication is one of the fields where technologies are greatly utilized. With the aid
of technology in communication, you can converse with people without worries because it
doesn’t require physical presence. Through wireless networks from different
telecommunications, you can reach people by people in any time, and in any place. With this, it
makes me realize that cellphone would be one of the most technological inventions that I can
live without. Why? It is simply because cellphone can bring you closer to your loved ones even
though you are far from one another. But in deeper sense, communication and technologies
have built great consensus.
Technology and communication have built harmonious relationship. The advancement of
technology has helped to advance the ways in which we communicate with each other. One
way technology has advanced communication is through the birth of electronic communication
devices. The birth of cellular phones, social networking websites, e-mail, and faxes are a few
examples of electronic communication.
The use of technology in communication especially cellphones are became part of
human lives, it became a necessity per se. We can use phones everywhere because we have
different communication networks. Using electronic communications, we can feel that our
relatives are closer from us even though we cannot see them personally.
In my own perspective, adding cellphone to my personal list of needs should not be
forgotten most especially in the nature of my chosen field. Cell phones could save your day. It is
the perfect way to stay connected with others and provides the user a sense of security
especially during the times that you are far from your relatives or close acquaintances. In the
event of emergency, having a cell phone with you can allow you help people who are in the
midst of danger, resulting from saving lives quickly and possibly. With cell phones, you can have
the ability to stay in touch with family, business associates, and will have an access to someone
far from you. Cell phones will not only viable in communication. You can also use this in
capturing photos or moments with your loved ones, something you can reserve as special
memories. You can also use this as form of evidences especially if you are in investigative
firms.
In the same way around, modern cell phones could also assist the person in travelling.
Modern phones with Internet can provide you GPS or google maps which will help you to trace
alternative routes and street landmarks for you not to get lost while on the road, typically during
rush hours. In some studies made, it is found out that as cell phone technology advanced, the
difficult in using them became less of problem. In present day, cell phone has evolved: from
dialing on keypads, now it is more on screen touch. Thanks to the improvement of cell phone
receptions due to the use of satellites and wireless services. The magic of cellular phones will
continue to go further.
In retrospect, cellular phones may also have disadvantages. With the studies conducted
by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), as mobile phones
are continue to increase its users, it may have an adverse effects on health. Mobile phones emit
radiofrequency energy or radiation that is clinically proven to affect the brain once used in a long
term basis. The amount of radiofrequency energy a mobile phone user is exposed depend on
many factors as the technology of the phone, the distance of the phone to the uses and the type
of the phone used. Therefore, cell phone users should also be advised of its health hazards to
limit the time of using them.
On the other hand, using cell phones may also hamper one’s skill in written and verbal
communication. Since text messaging has its codes, people tend to use those shortened words
or text languages for faster response because it doesn’t require more characters to type. But, to
be an effective language user, cell phone users must also take account on the importance of
correct grammatical structures of sentences. They should be also careful with the use of text
languages because it is far from the basic rules of Standard English.
Cellular phones although have coupled of disadvantages, it is always on the hands of
the users whether they got hooked of them; still they are always responsible for their acts.
Tracing back the history of cellular phones, these are too expensive, to the point that
those who can afford can only have them. When cell phones were first introduced to the public,
it is bulky, and requires basic unit to transport messages to different channels. It has also faced
signal challenges where good reception to the place must be established. But today, it is not
always the dilemma because wireless satellites have been improved. Cell phones are not so
expensive because you can have them for Php 500.00 pesos only if you want to have text and
call, but if you want to upgrade the unit, and then spend much for it.
With that, I always think that phones should not be luxurious as long as you can talk with
your loved ones, that’s the important thing. Never get blinded with the latest models of phones
because it can also lead you to income failure. Upgraded phone models can also threaten you
to spend more cash, so it is also better for the cell phone users to be practical. Everyone should
keep in mind that the main concerns of cellular phones are to stay connected with the people
around you especially if they are in overseas. Communication with your loved ones doesn’t
require money-deteriorating phones, as long as you can dial the numbers, type the letter-
characters, and stay closer with the people you loved, that is the very good thing to do.

 Yes, today we cannot live without phones because they are being part of our personal
necessities. It is becoming the adult’s transitional object because some people tend to go along
with the trend or new models. As time goes by, it is something that we can’t live without. But all
of us, of course must be responsible for using it. Let’s use the technology wisely because
technologies will never replace us, it can only make our life easier.
