DIgSILENT Seminars
DIgSILENT Pacific provides regular training seminars for PowerFactory and StationWare throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Seminars are
available on the following topics:

PowerFactory Seminars

Harmonics Analysis Training

This one day course provides an introduction to the harmonics analysis

tools of PowerFactory. Topics convered include:

Harmonics Basics
Harmonic current and voltage sources
Harmonics load-flow
Determining the network frequency response (Frequency scan)
Modelling frequency dependent R and L
Harmonics analysis of ripple control sources
Harmonics analysis of line commutated rectifier/inverter models
Harmonics' Filter Modelling
Harmonics' Filter Design
Harmonics analysis with EMT simulations
IEC-61000-3-6 harmonics analysis using PowerFactory
Calculating voltage flicker using PowerFactory

Before attending this course, course attendees should be familiar with the basic use of PowerFactory such as how to
perform load-flow and short circuit analysis and navigate around the database.

Technical Seminars

Generator Control Systems, Generator Control Systems, Stability and Compliance Training
Stability and Compliance This two day course provides a theoretical and practical introduction to modelling a synchronous machine and its
Training (2 days) associated control systems. A relevant discussion is also provided to power system stability and the approach for
implementing PSS for improved stability. The following topics shall be presented:

Synchronous machine basics

Basics of the excitation system
Excitation configurations
Closed loop control theory and its application to model an excitation system
Open loop performance of the excitation system
Closed loop performance of the excitation system
Excitation system tuning
Excitation limiters
Frequency control
Governor and turbine modelling
