When designing my second-grade classroom what I wanted to make sure to do was have it organized in a way where my
students would know where everything is. To do so I included a supplies/turn in table where I would put out any supplies needed for
the day and a bin for them to turn in homework or activities. For reading time I decided to put the books all in one corner and a rug so
students could if they wanted to read there as well. Another important thing I chose to incorporate to my classroom was an
achievements board. I thought of adding this for the students, since students most often do better when they know they are
acknowledged for their work and also feel proud or happy. For technology I only added four computers, I figured that’s the amount
most classrooms have and students would take turns when rotating in groups to use them. When I observed a classroom last semester I
did notice the teacher had some cabinets for her supplies or paperwork so that is why I chose to add a supplies and files cabinet too.
When selecting a place for pictures and posters I thought it would be better to add it close to the door where students could see them
each time they enter or leave the classroom. The teacher’s desk is in the back corner to easily observe students and not distract them.
With seating the students in my designed classroom, I deciding to group them so they could interact and help each other. In my
classroom they are facing the board but that would only be for lectures because I would plan to have them face each other for group
activities. I only added space for 20 students but if I did have more students than that I would simply add another group or make each
