 INSTALLATION AND SETUP

Database Selection
When installing the system you will be asked to select a database. For system evaluation and smaller projects you
should select SQL Lite and no further configuration will be required. For larger systems with large tag counts and
higher update rates, select Microsoft SQL Server as the database. For this database type some configuration will be
required. Go to ScadaUniversity.com locate Status Enterprise User Guides Part 7 in the documentation section for
setup details. SQL Server or SQL Express will be required.

System Requirements
There are some basic technical requirements that must be met in order for Status Enterprise to run and function
properly on a host system.
 Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 3 and higher)
 Windows Server 2008

 Windows Server 2012

 Windows XP (Service Pack 2 and higher, Client Applications Only)
 Windows Vista (Service Pack 1 and higher, Client Applications Only)
 Windows 7
 Windows 8
 Windows 10

The following frameworks must be installed on the host system prior to installing Status Enterprise.
.NET Framework 4.0 Full Installation
.NET Framework 4.0 or higher must be installed prior to installing any portion of the Status Enterprise system. The Client
Profile version of the .NET Framework does not include a portion of the software required for Status Enterprise.

OPC Foundation Core Components (required if using OPC DA )

After installing the system search for OPC Core Components in your installed applications. Install 32 or 64 bit as appropri-
ate. Search for ‘OPC Core Components’ from Start.
Internet Information Server (IIS) (Required for Web Gateway)
The Web Gateway is an IIS application for providing screens to clients as HTML 5, it requires IIS and .NET 4.5 be installed
before installing Status Enterprise.

The Status Enterprise Launcher Application provides quick access to
the programs that make up the Status Enterprise System.

Data Model Designer — Creation of the data model and configuring data mappings

Mimic Designer — Creation mimics for HTML 5 or Windows without programming.

Application Designer — Creation mimics for Windows with C# or VB programming.

Mimic Runtime — Application for running mimics created with the Mimic Designer.

Data Model Browser — Client application for walking the model, viewing and modifying
properties, viewing trends and alarms and mimics.

Application Runtime — Runtime for applications created with the Application Designer.

Gateway — Launches your web browser to view mimics in HTML 5.

Status Server Console — Utility for displaying connection and health information of
the Status Server.

Data Connector — Configuration of live data to the system, same GUI as data config-
uration in the model designer only in a standalone app.

Sensor Server Device Configuration — Configuration utility for B-Scada wireless sen-
sors and gateways.

Configuration Editor — Simple text editor for changing configuration file settings.

Audit Viewer — Shows warning and error information logged from the Status Server.

Database Utility — Database backup, restore and purge.

Localization Utility — Provides the translations used by the server in screens for lo-
calized text properties on Assets.

Mimic Scheduler — Sets a schedule for the display of mimics in runtime clients, used
for digital signage applications.

Application Runtime Configuration — Configuration utility for Application Runtime

settings.

Auto Logon — Configuration utility for Auto Logon settings.
