Under the tree, if you select a slot, a single plate, a port of a single board, the corresponding
equipment machine diagram slot, single board, the port also corresponding were chosed.

4. System management

4.1 NE synchronization

Network synchronization function is: the system’s configuration and network

management in the database configuration do a comparison, if the display
synchronization, then the network management and the equipment is in a synchronous
state. There are specific:
●Synchronous comparison: network management database and device
configuration make a synchronous comparison.
● Synchronous upload: if the result of the comparison shows no synchronization,
you will need to do a sync upload operation, the device configuration is sent to the
network management database.
● Simultaneous downloads: network management of data is sent to the device.

5.2 Overhead management

Overhead bytes are used to query and configuration should be issued, should
send byte, and query received byte.

5.3 ECC management

5.3.1 ECC introduction

Embedded channel contains the control information and the management
information. It uses D1-D3 or D4-D12 byte, byte D1-D3 channel is used for network
element management SDH special, a regeneration section must use this channel,
non-renewable period following overhead bytes element can choose to use the ECC

5.3.2 IP address configure

It need to configure main OAM IP address, the default is 10.0.0.xx.then it must

to add a route in dos system .for example: route add 10.0.0.0 mask 255.0.0.0
192.168.1.xx. This 192.168.1.xx IP address is your main OAM IP address.

15
SDH-Service Transfer Platform

5.3.3 ECC port configure

The ECC port configures is choosing which port are enable and which is don not
enable. But the default is all port is enabling.

5.3.4 ECC channel configure

●Channel list: display all port of NE configurations.

● Through list: display source port and destination port of NE that to configure.

5.3.5 Neighboring network element information

● Port: Adjacent element is connected with the change of network element port
information.

● Neighboring network IP address: The adjacent IP network element

information connected with the network element

● Neighboring network port: The adjacent port NE element that

connect with network element.

6. Clock configuration and maintain

6.1 Introduction
The UPCOM_NMS is specified by the ITU to achieve the clock
function.tofollow ITU-T defines as below:
● SYS: system clock.
● ECS: export clock system.
● Selector: by the manual control of the two selected one selector

6.2 Parameters introduction

16
SDH-Service Transfer Platform

6.2.1 Clock mode

● It has two mode: 2mbit or 2mHz.

● For the external clock input needs to be set according to the actual situation

6.2.2 Recovery time

● Physical state never normal restore to normal, SCS and ESC logic state to wait
for many times the actual return to normal.
● When the waiting time is 0, said there was no delay, the logic state will
immediately return to normal.

6.2.3 Priority

Priority is a reference input selector; you can set a priority for each source of
input for each selector. Priority setting range is 0-255, 0 said that the banned from the
selected source, the larger the number the higher priority level.

6.2.4 Operation mode and working mode

Operation mode and working mode is one function of SETG, operation mode
represent export operates, and working mode represent internal clock.
There are three operation modes: Auto, Free run, Holdover. And also has three
working mode: Free run, lock, and holdover.
When operation mode is “Auto”, now we can switch in three modes.
When operation mode is “Free run”, the working mode must be “Free Run”
When operation mode is “hold over” the working mode must be “holdover”

6.4 The basic configuration of a reference source

8.1 introduction

Sometimes, because of the influence of the external environment, may lead to

broken SDH business, and also can break NMS system.
So we need Alarm management, when a fault occurs, timely report to the
network management administrator, so it can deal the alarm in time.

8.2 Current alarm management
