Areas:
The department has its core competencies in the development of application-specific 2D and 3D micro- and
nanostructured materials based on silicon, polymers and oxides. It uses simulation methods for predicting properties,
microstructuring techniques of silicon, oxides and polymers, and hybrid integration, as well as developing adapted
mechanical, optical and electro-optical characterization methods. Current fields of application are integrated optics,
sensor technology, photovoltaics and safety technology.
