RESEARCH DESIGN

A. Description of the sources data

This study utilized a quantitative correlational research design. Correlational

research is a type of non-experimental research method, in which a researcher measures

two variables, understands and assesses the statistical relationship between them with

no influence from any extraneous variable.

B. Methodology

Survey slip format:

1. Which of the following gadgets do you most prefer to use?

a. Smart phone

b. Laptop

c. Desktop

C. Description of instrument to be used

The instrument used was a researcher-made Likert scale questionnaire to gather

the needed data. The draft of the questionnaire was drawn out based on the researcher’s
readings, The Likert scale questionnaire contains 7 questions. For each question the

respondents have the following choices:

Type of Gadget

Hours

Ways of using Gadgets

D. Data gathering procedure

A random sampling method was used for selecting the participants in the study.

Random sampling is a part of the sampling technique in which each sample has an equal

probability of being chosen. A sample chosen randomly is meant to be an unbiased

representation of the total population. There are 6 sections in the pm shift of Architecture

Course and the random selected respondents will be 50 in the whole Architecture

Department.

To interpret the data effectively, the researcher will employ the following statistical

treatment. The Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation are the tools use to interpret

data. Note the Actual data are interpreted by Google Docs.
