Industry 4.0 - Digital Control 2

Over last four years of research and development we’ve created a new generation of
ultrasound IoT devices:

ü  Concrete curing and strength real time monitoring

ü  Construction site critical points control

ü  Construction site vehicle access control

Concrete Curing Test 3

These days, concrete setting monitoring is complicated, inaccurate and expensive.

Collecting test cylinders Curing the cylinders in the lab Compressing the cylinders

Major impact over – cost, duration and safety

According to the regulations, concrete cures for 28 days.

In reality it takes from 14 till 90 days.

Competing Equipment 4

Ultrasonic concrete strength measurement and cracks indication hand-held

instruments are much more easier and faster then a lab tests. It allows to conduct
tests on-site without limitatioins.

However, it requires highly skilled personnel, sensitive to the type and quality of the
concrete surface. Thus, the human factor impact can lead to serious errors.

Concrete Curing Statistics 5

About 3% of concrete never cures as required

About 10% of concrete cures much longer then 28 days (for up to 90 days)

About 20% of concrete cures well ahead of 28 days,

sometimes as much as two times faster

Solution: Reduce Construction Time 6

Automated Olmidi IoT system

Lowers the overall construction cost

Eliminates the risk of subcontractors’ fraud:
identify problems with concrete quality in real time
Removes the human factor.

On average, it takes from 2 to 4 years for the construction of monolithic multi-

storey building (20-30 stories).

While constructing 30 storey building – 6 floors can be build earlier!!!

Expected time improvement: six weeks or more of construction time

Now it’s possible to decide on in real time when you can remove the
formwork and move on to the next stage

1. Maturity Test requires verification by lab test ASTM C39/C39M.

2. Not available for measuring concrete strength of existing construction

3. Sensors’ preliminary calibration is required for each concrete mix. It takes at least 28 days
to calibrate.

4. Maturity Test is insensitive to concrete mix components falsification

Solution: Olmidi concrete sensors 8

Full compliance with the standard ASTM C 597 (Pulse velocity):

1. Doesn’t require verification by an expensive lab
test ASTM C39/C39M
2. Measuring concrete strength of existing
construction within structure
3. Measuring the slightest shift in concrete mixtures
composition, so it’s impossible to falsify.

We’ll let you know down to the minute, when to remove

formwork and continue construction, saving hours, days and
weeks, reducing overall construction time.

Our Experience: Project Examples 10

Aerospace industry
§  Piezo-film based power generation for sensor system in the aircraft wings.
§  The energy effect made it possible to place outdoor surveillance cameras
at the ends of the wings without laying cables, uninterrupted operation of
cameras in the infrared range and transmitting a picture with a signal
frequency of every 30 seconds. In other words, the mounted devices work
at the expense of the energy of the wing oscillation.

§  A real-time monitoring system for autoclave production of composite

materials for elements of civil aircrafts’ fuselage.

§  A real-time monitoring system for the wear condition of metalworking tools for
manufacturing aircraft parts made from titanium and aluminum alloys.
