TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS USED

1. PISTON RING EXPANDER:

This is a slick little tool for spreading the piston ring to easily slip it over the piston

2. Pneumatic gun

This helps us to loose or tight the bolt in between two machine parts using air pressure
3.Torque wrench

This do same function as pneumatic gun except that

human efforts are needed to loose or tight the bolts

4.Hydraulic Crane

T his can lift heavy equipments upto 1000 kg using

hydraulic principle
5. Hydraulic Small Vehicle Lifter

Use to lift small light vehicles so that

maintainence can be done easily. It works electrically

6.
7. Hexagonal socket

It is use to open the big bolt of gearbox.

8.
9. Fast Battery Charger

It is used to charge the batteries of

Vehicles at fast rate.

10.Hydraulic oil pumper

It is used to pump hydraulic oil to the tippers

and many other Vehicles using human effort by rotating the handle.
11. Trolley cart

Trolley cart was usually used to transport heavy

parts like gearbox, crown, engine blocks, and etc. to and fro washing station
and overhaul room

12. Air compressor

An air compressor is a device that converts

power (using an electric motor, diesel or gasoline engine, etc.) into potential
energy stored in pressurized air (i.e., compressed air)
13.Jacks

Jacks are used to lift the vehicle while maintaining the

tire and brake for other purpose ,the technicians use slippers to go under
the chassis of the vehicle.

14. Toolbox:

Every technician is provided with a toolbox which is most needed and has vital
significance. It contains the following tools:

a. Rachet
A ratchet is a mechanical device that allows
continuous linear or rotary motion in only one direction while preventing
motion in the opposite direction

b. Socket extensions

The socket extension implements a low-level

interface to the socket communication functions based on the popular BSD
sockets, providing the possibility to act as a socket server as well as a client.

c. Screw driver

It helps to loose or tight the screw using human effort.

d. Hammer

It is used to deliver an impact to a small area of an

object.

e. Pliers set

They are also useful

for bending and compressing a wide range of materials

f. Chisel

A chisel is a tool with a characteristically shaped cutting edge of

blade on its end, for carving or cutting a hard material such as wood, stone, or
metal by hand
g. Hackshaw

It is used to cut metals.

h. Open spanners

It is made of chromium vanadium alloy steel

and is used to tight or loose the nut or bolt. A one-piece wrench with a U-
shaped opening that grips two opposite faces of the bolt or nut. This wrench is
often double-ended, with a different-sized opening at each end. The ends are
generally oriented at an angle of around 15 degrees to the longitudinal axis of
the handle. This allows a greater range of movement in enclosed spaces by
flipping the wrench over.
i. Combination spanners

A double-ended tool with one end being like an open-

end wrench or open-ended spanner, and the other end being like a box-end
wrench or ring spanner. Both ends generally fit the same size of bolt. And are
used to tight or loose the nut or bolt.

j. Box end spanners

A one-piece wrench with an enclosed opening that grips

the faces of the bolt or nut. The recess is generally a six-point or twelve-point
opening for use with nuts or bolt heads with a hexagonal shape. The twelve-
point fits onto the fastening at twice as many angles, an advantage where
swing is limited. Eight-point wrenches are also made for square-shaped nuts
and bolt heads. Ring spanners are often double-ended and usually with offset
handles to improve access to the nut or bolt.

k. Socket and allen keys of various sizes

A wrench used to turn screw or bolt heads designed with a

hexagonal socket (recess) to receive the wrench. The wrenches come in two
common forms: L-shaped and T-handles. The L-shaped wrenches are formed
from hexagonal wire stock, while the T-handles are the same hex wire stock
15. Oil tray and Oil pans:

They are used for collecting diesel, waste oil during the service procedure. The
trays are also used to collect nuts, bolts, washers and various small parts
during the dismantling process

16. Piston ring compressor

The piston ring compressor is a special tool that

is specifically designed for compressing the piston rings when a piston is re-
installed
17. Sockets

They are used to loose or tight the bolts.
