Admission to Post Graduate Programmes: 2019

Online Applications are invited from interested students for admission to Postgraduate Programmes in
the Departments of Cotton University. Candidates having requisite qualification for admission should fill in
and submit the online application form through the University website www.cottonuniversity.ac.in.

The MA programme in Mass Communication & Journalism and the MSc programme in Computer Science
(Artificial Intelligence) shall run in Self-financing mode. Fee structure details shall be published in a
separate notification before admission.
Eligibility: Bachelor’s
helor’s Degree from a recognised university (refer to the notification of General Information
for Admission to PG Programmes 2019 2019-20 for details).
Reservation: As per the rules and regulations of the Government of Assam.

Candidates should carefully read the instructions and follow the procedure for filling up the online form.
Cotton University reserves 50% of the seats in each course for Cotton graduates (passed in 2019 or 2018
only) subject to a minimum CGPA (Core) score in the qualifying UG examination as specified in the
notification of General Information for Admission to PG Programmes 2019-20.
2019 Merit list for admission of
Cotton Graduates in case of a subject with UG Major/ Honours course in Cotton University sha shall be on the
basis of CGPA (Core) obtained in that subject. Merit lists of admission for Open Category (Graduates from
any recognised institution) for all subjects and for Cotton Graduates in subjects without UG Major/
Honours in Cotton University shall be based on marks obtained in the Cotton Post-Graduate
Graduate Entrance
Examination (CPGEE 2019) to be held from 19 to 22 July 2019. Notification for CPGEE 2019 shall be
published in the University website shortly by the Controller of Examinations.

A Cotton Graduate admitted to a PG programme on the basis of UG CGPA (Core) score in a subject is not
required to appear in the CPGEE 2019 for that subject and the fee of Rs. 300.00 already paid by her/him
shall be adjusted with the admission fees.
A candidatete may apply for admission to more than one PG programme by completing the online
application procedure separately. However, there shall be no change of schedule of CPGEE 2019 if there
happens to be a clash of date and time of the entrance examinations for any candidate applying for
multiple PG programmes.
Important Notes for Admission in EC, DA etc. Q Quotas:
1. Candidates
andidates seeking admission through Extra and Co-Curricular activities (EC) and Differently Abled
(DA) quotas shall submit photocopies
copies of supporting documents along with a printed copy of the online
generated application form to the Office of the Director of Students’ Welfare, Ambikagiri Ambika
Raichoudhury Bhawan, Opp. Food Villa, Near RKB Boys’ Hostel, Panbazar, Guwahati -781001, Assam
in a sealed envelope by 22 July, 2019 at the latest. The envelope should have the particular quota
(refer to the notification of General Information for Admission to PG Programmes 2019-20
2019 for details)
in which the candidate is seeking admission superscribed in bold letters
letters.
2. Detailed schedule of dates of scrutiny of documents,, performance test and selection process will be
notified by the Director Students’ Welfare in the University website at a later date.
