Data Gathering Instruments

In the data gathering phase of this study, the researchers utilized both primary and secondary data. For its primary

data gathering, it used structured survey questionnaire which was distributed to its 30 respondents. They were given the

copies of the questionnaire and asked to answer honestly and accurately. The survey questionnaire is divided into two

main parts. First part is composed of a list of indicators under the personnel capability tabular presentation, second table

presents the logistical component with a list of indicators while the last part of the questionnaire contains the list of

requirements under community involvement. Second main part of the questionnaire aims to answer the problems

encountered in the counterinsurgency which is in the form of a checklist.

An interview guide questionnaire was also used by the police researchers; this instrument was used as a guide and

reference in the conduct of interview to concerned personnel of Nasugbu MPS as the study’s key informant. The police

officers who have direct involvement on the program was interviewed using this questionnaire. It contains questions on

the problems encountered in the program and were raised to the interviewee. These responses from this interview were

used as answers to the problem statement number 3.

On the other hand, secondary data used in this study were obtained from various materials like previous studies

conducted by OAC, OSEC and MPSA students, published journals and books in the NPC library and online/internet

materials like news articles, web-journals and policy or working papers with topics on counterinsurgency.
