1 COGNITIVE STRATEGY
To overcome the problem given in the scenario, we do several things such as:
1. Group discussion without a tutor, propose ideas among members in collaboration and ask
about additional information of the problem.
2. Group discussion with a tutor during tutorial time, tutor help to drive the discussion and
answers our questions about the scenario.
3. Attend the expert lectures in big class.
4. Individual learning at the library by reading textbooks and journals, also browse from the
internet or other audio-visual facilities.
5. Construct early and final concept mapping to help us analyzing the main problem, other
factors, and going to conclusion.
6. Construct conclusions and summaries of the tutorial process as a group.

3.1 METHOD AND STEP IN FINDING INFORMATION

To find out more information to diagnose and determine our patients' treatment we seek
information through two methods; Focused Group Discussion and literature search. Both of
them is interconnected and complement each other.
In the first meeting, we do Focused Group Discussion. From this FGD we were handed a
medical case and patients' chief complaint. After that we gather every member general
opinion about the case that we got in the brainstorming session to make early hypothesis.
Then based on our hypothesis we mainly use basic approach such as anamnesis and asking
our patients' physical examination from our tutor.
After getting information from our FGD. Then we list all blankspots in our knowledge
that may be important in understanding the patients' condition in the form of questions called
Learning Issue.
Then we split those learning issue to every member of the group to answer. Every
individual have to look for more information about their learning issues by doing literature
search, looking for medical evidence in journal, guidelines, books, and trusted websites.
We also given the chance to ask the PBL department to ask about patients condition
which are not provide by the tutor. After getting information from FGD, literature search, and
PBL department. We did problem analysis in the next meeting to explain the cause of patients'
condition and possible treatment or intervention that can be done in the next FGD. This
meeting also functions to synchronize every individual knowledge and opinion. Finally from
our analysis we made our final hypothesis and final mind mapping.
2.2 OBSTACLES
We do have some issues in the process of this tutorial:
1. The difficulties in finding valid journals in the matter of the learning issues that
we made.
2. Limited time in composing the PBL module report.
3. Limited answers for the question we asked on the first tutoring session.
4. The discussion and communication through e-forum becomes ineffective due to
technical problems. .
