Time Synchronization
If NodeB is configured with the GPS, a GPS clock is used as the NodeB clock source.
It is recommended to use the IPCLK (1588V2) as a NodeB clock source. NodeB can extract a clock from the
IPCLK SERVER. Recommended
With Software configuration IPCLK Server can output multiple types of clock signals.
If transmission devices with 100 m cabling length or the 2G-BTS can provide a 2048 kHz signal, this signal can
be used as an external synchronization clock source of NodeB. Only macro NodeBs and indoor BBUs support
this configuration.
If transmission devices with 300 m cabling length or the 2G-BTS can provide a 2048 kbit/s signal (E1) or 1544
kbit/s signal (T1) signal, this signal can be used as an external synchronization clock source on the Iub interface
of NodeB and be connected to any E1/T1 interface (No.0 E1 generally).
If all the preceding requirements cannot be met or NodeB clock cannot meet synchronization requirements
due to poor transmission qualities, NodeB can be set to operate in free mode, but this mode requires regular
calibration of the NodeB system clocks.
