Activity 2- interview of the school teacher

1. What school activities do you conduct that allow the participation of the people in
the barangay?
- During the general cleaning of the school, not only the parents help in cleaning
but also the barangay officials. They join hand in hand in cleaning the school.

2. Are there community activities that you, as teachers join? Please name. do your
learners join also these activities?
- Yes, there is. One of these activities are the recent town fiesta in which we
sponsored one night of variety show together with our students.

3. What learning do you pupils/students gain from the participation?


- Due to our participation, the students learned on how to socialize with other
people, and they were able to overcome anxiety through participation of the
school in this event.

4. What does the community benefit from joining in your school activities?
- The harmonious relationship between the school and community are the benefit
that both parties earned from the activities conducted by the school.

5. As per observation, are the lessons that you taught in the school transferred to
the homes or the community?
- Value formation and moral values are concrete evidence that students apply
these lessons from school to their home even in the community. These could be
best learning’s that students were able to apply good moral values.

Activity 1: CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH A BEGINNING PROFESSIONAL TEACHER

(1-3 YEARS TEACHING EXPERIENCE)

1. Where did you earn your degree? When?


- I earn my degree at Mindanao State University- Gensan in the year 2015-2016.
With a bachelor’s degree of education major in physical Education.

2. How did your University prepare you to become a good teacher?


- The school prepared me through equipping us with knowledge that we can used
in our careers as future educator. In addition the practice teaching helped me a
lot to inclined in the real classroom scenarios.
3. When did you pass the Licensure examination for teachers (LET) what was your
passing rate?
- I took the LET exam last NOVEMBER, 2016 and I got a passing rate of 76.80%
4. When did you start teaching as a professional?
- I started to teach last December, 2016 at Amazing Grace school at Polomolok,
South Cotabato, and a private school.
5. What makes you happy as a teacher?
- I became happy when I know that my students learned something from me. It
flattens my heart and it paid up all the sacrifices and sleepless nights
6. What disappoint you as teacher?
- It disappoints me when they do not give their full attention to the lesson and they
are missing to understand the importance of every topic being discussed.
7. What professional development activities/trainings have you participated?
- I already participated seminars and trainings such as Training in creative Filipino
production and stagecraft, teacher training class, seminar on language: a
medium in developing creative Filipino teachers, creative arts and crafts for multi-
grade teaching and etc.
8. Are you a member of a professional organization? What is the name of the
organization?
- Since I am new, I am not yet a member of any professional organization.
9. As a professional teacher, what code conduct do you strictly follow? Can you
name the specific behavior that should be followed to the utmost?
- Being a punctual at all times enclosed therein is the submission of needed
requirements before the deadline.
10. What kind of professional teacher would you dream to become you retire?
- I dreamt to be teacher who does not mentally equip the students but to influence
them to be best individual they could be. Also, to prepare them in their real-life
career and profession. Lastly, I learn that best thing of being a teacher is we
became an influencer in honing and preparing individuals in their future.
Activity 2: CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH A YOUNG PROFESSIONAL TEACHER

(4-10 YEARS TEACHING EXPERIENCE)

1. Are you satisfied with your job as a professional teacher for the past few years? If
yes, why? If not, why not?
- I am not yet satisfied with my job as a professional teacher for the past years
because there were still a lot of questions in my mind that haven’t been
answered, “why am I teaching Math?, and what is the significance in teaching
Math?
2. What are the things that you do as a professional teacher that makes you happy?
Sad?
- The things that makes me happy is when I share the word of God to my students,
inspiring them in some ways because I believe that life is not all about numbers
but it’s the word of God that builds our faith and enables us to go through the
storms in life.
3. What was your most unforgettable experience as a teacher? Please tell.
- My most unforgettable experience was when I first burst out my anger to one of
my students, because of his misbehavior and hard headedness. He wasreally
embarrassed in front of his classmates. Of course, after which I talked to him and
explain the reason why I caught his attention.
4. What is your plans for the future as a professional teacher?
- My future plan is to teach in a public school since today I am private employee od
STI. I planning to save up and put my own business so I can focus on thye
ministry god has entrusted me.
Activity 3: CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH A MENTOR/MASTER

(11-15 YEARS TEACHING EXPERINCE)

1. Are you satisfied with your job as a mentor professional teacher for the past few
years? If yes, why? If not, why not?
- Yes, because I already saw the achievements of m y students before and some
are now professionals.

2. What are the things that you do as a professional teacher that makes you happy?
Sad?
- The things that make me happy is sharing my knowledge to my learners so that
they will also become a professional like me.

3. How did you mentor younger professional teachers?


- I mentor younger professional teachers by means of sharing my ideas.

4. Looking back to your early years as a professional, how do you compare yourself
with your mentees now?
- During my early years, the teachers are much more dedicated than today’s
generation.

5. What awards or citations have you received?


- I was awardee as a coach with bronze medal.

6. What are your plans for the future as a professional teacher?-


- To become a principal.

7. Do you think you will retire as a professional teacher or be promoted to higher


position?
- To be promoted in higher position. A principal to be specific.
Activity 4: CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH EXPERT/STERLING TEACHER

(15 YEARS TEACHING EXPERIENCE)

1. Are you satisfied with your job as a mentor professional teacher for the past few
years? If yes, why? If not, why not?
- Yes, because I love to share what I have and it’s my job seeing my students
learning out of my teaching.

2. What are the things that you do as a mentor professional teacher that makes you
happy? Sad?
- Well, it’s when I see my students applying their learning’s and lesson in their
daily living. Applying the principles of life, overcoming the obstacle and
challenges that may come along.

3. What was your most unforgettable experience as an expert professional teacher?


Please tell.
- It’s when I see changes taking place in their lives; that includes right direction of
life, love for the family, neighbors and God as the source of everything.

4. What do you consider as your most significant contribution to the teaching


profession? Please tell.
- I am values education and English teacher, I would say that the most significant
contribution I’ve made as ESP teacher was when I organized a prayer meeting
and counseling session among the students. One hour after our class-ushering
them to be closer with God.

5. What are your plans in the future as an expert professional teacher?


- I have to continue what I see would really be helpful in their lives. How to face
challenges in life. Equip them more of the principles in life that may apply in
various situation, above all to be Godly learners.

6. Have you been promoted in your job? Why were you promoted? What benefits
did you get from the promotion?
- Yes! And it’s all because of working of God working through me. From teacher III
to master teacher 1, I also became the values education coordinator, youth
center adviser and also I also served as the guidance counselor of the school for
12 years.
