COURSE SYLLABUS DETAILS

COURSE DESCRIPTION :

Hours : 3 hours/week; 54 hours/semester


Credit Units : 3 units

INSTITUTIONAL LEARNING OUTCOMES:

1. Demonstrate/apply the knowledge and skills acquired in one’s discipline.


2. Exercise awareness of global perspectives to function effectively and constructively in the intercultural and global community.
3. Demonstrate one’s ability to analyze, interpret and use given information in responding to situations and providing solutions to discipline-related problems.
4. Demonstrate effective communication skills using English language through the different modes of communication.
5. Recognize the existence of God.
6. Actively involved in one’s community and be critical and analytical on the issues that affect him or her and are according to ethical principles.
7. Serve on work voluntarily
8. Presence and conserve the natural resources under man’s disposal including the ability t take up measures that will make the environment sustainable.
9. Work and hit targets beyond performance standards.
10. Hold true of what is right and appropriate in one’s role behavior or relationship
11. Be upright and consistently honest.
12. Be faithful to any relation or organizational affiliation.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES :

The Master of Arts in Nursing Program will produce professionals who will:

1. Practice advanced arts in nursing with high level of competence and act in accordance with the standards of his profession, upholding the personal and core values of excellence, honesty, integrity and loyalty in
the service of the global community;
2. Demonstrate leadership and management skills with high regard to ethical responsibility, exhibiting sound and Godly principles;
3. Continue to develop professionally by obtaining post-graduate degrees or relevant trainings and pursue lifelong learning activities; and
4. Lead in the promotion of health and nursing practices by conducting scientific researches.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES:

The graduate of Master of Arts in Nursing Program aims to:

1. Enhance nurse practitioner’s ethical practice, personal responsibility, and professional growth in an advanced practice role;
2. implement the research process within the context of evidence-based practice as a producer and consumer of research evidence to contribute to nursing theory and improve nursing practice;
3. apply leadership principles to effect change in health care and health policy on local, regional, national and international levels;
4. integrate the ethical use of technology and information systems to augment the human capacity for health, facilitate decision-making, support collaboration and foster communication;
5. promote health of local to global communities through promoting safe environments and safe and effective health care addressing the interaction among individuals, communities and their environmental
contexts;
6. disseminate nursing knowledge to professionals within the health care system to improve health care outcomes for individuals, families and communities; and
7. practice entrepreneurship related to one’s field of specialization.

The Master in Nursing (MN) Program has for its objectives of producing graduates with the following competencies:

1. Demonstrate competence in advanced nursing practices with focus on nursing interventions and evaluation of outcomes for defined clients;
2. Gain in-depth training, knowledge and research experience to prepare for career possibilities in nursing practice;
3. Possess knowledge and skills to analyze and evaluate programs, policies and environmental issues, organizational structures related to nursing;
4. Exhibit a commitment of excellence in nursing practice and for the advancement of the nursing discipline; and
5. Apply the legal, ethical and financial accountability in the nursing practice and within various environmental contexts.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES : Upon completion of the course, each student shall have demonstrated the ability to:

1. Summarize data through graphical and tabular presentations.


2. Describe the characteristics of data set using numerical summary.
3. Perform appropriate test statistic in any problem on testing the hypothesis using manual and software computations.
