Module-1
1 Derive the differential equation for a beam column. (16 Marks)

2 Derive the critical load carrying capacity of fixed pinned column. (16 Marks)

3 By using energy approach derive the critical load carrying capacity of fixed free column.

5 With an illustration, explain how the finite element approach is advantageous to analyze the
stability of structures. (16 Marks)
