Accounts department of Agogo Presbyterian Hospital
is made up of four (4) main units viz; (a) Agogo Hospital Finance section which is made up of Accounts Department and Stores. (b) Primary Health Care Accounts. (c) Nurses Training College Accounts. (d) Eye Department Accounts. These divisions are headed by various Accounting staff under the jurusdiction of an Accounts manager. The strength of the department are; Accounts Number Of Accounts Departments. Staff. Agogo Hospital 16 Primary Health Care 2 Nurses Training 2 College Medical and Drugs 5 Stores TOTAL. 25 The department has various units to handle day to day financial operation. A. Cash Transaction unit i. Petty Cashier and other Cashiers ii.Preparation of cash book and other duties associated with cash. B. Ledger control unit i. Ledgers and preparation of final Accounts. ii. Debtors /Creditors and stocks control. C. National Health Insurance unit. D. Salary and Wages unit. E. Stores and Stocks. The Section, apart from taken custody of the Finances of the Hospital, is tasked to prepare various financial information to management on monthly and quarterly basis, and preparation of quarterly report for Board meetings. Type Of Reports: Monthly Receipt and Payments Accounts for the following; A. Management meetings and Workers groups.viz; T.U.C, Nurses, Doctors and Anesthetists. B. Quarterly Income and Expenditure Accounts for Management and Board. C. Yearly Income and Expenditure Account for auditing purposes. Agogo Hospital ii. Agogo PHC iii. NTC Agogo iv. Aowin Suaman PHC - Enchi (Western Region) v. Assin Nsuta Presby Health Post (Central Region) vi. Assin Praso Presby Health Post (Central Region) vii. Kwahu Praso Presby Health Post (Eastern Region) Achievements The Department was adjudged the best Accounting department under CHAG institutions in Ghana in the year 1997 for keeping an up to date accounting records to promote true and fair accountability. It continues to serve as practical training grounds for many staff of various organizations especially CHAG institutions, Polytechnic Students, Universities and other tertiary institutions.
