 Introduction:-

Hospital Management System is a software product suite designed to improve the quality and
management of hospital management in the areas of clinical process analysis and activity-based
costing. It designed and developed to deliver real conceivable benefits to hospitals.
It designed for multispecialty hospitals, to cover a wide range of hospital administration and
management processes. It is an integrated end-to-end which can provide relevant information across
the hospital to support effective decision making for patient care, hospital administration and critical
financial accounting, in a seamless flow.
Simply it enables you to develop your organization and improve its effectiveness and quality of work.
Managing the key processes efficiently is critical to the success of the hospital helps you manage your
processes.

 Problem description:-

The hospital handles lots of patients per day; Hospitals currently use a manual system for the
management and maintenance of critical information. The current system requires numerous paper
forms, with data stores spread throughout the hospital management infrastructure. Often information
(on forms) is incomplete, or does not follow management standards. Forms are often lost in transit
between departments requiring a comprehensive auditing process to ensure that no vital information is
lost. Multiple copies of the same information exist in the hospital and may lead to inconsistencies in
data in various data stores. So that hospitals need a system to handle the daily tasks efficiently as the
manual system contains lots of errors. Because of that, most of the official works are done manually
with the aid of books and other hardcopies.

 Objectives:-
The Hospital management system software is user-friendly software.
The main objectives of the system are which shows and helps you to collect most of the information
about Hospitality and Medical Services. The system is very simple in design and to implement. The
system will work in almost all configurations.
The main objectives of the proposed system can be enumerated as follows:
 Define hospital Recording information about the Patients that come.
 Generating bills.
 Recording information related to diagnosis given to Patients. Keeping record of the
Immunization provided to children/patients.
 Keeping information about various diseases and medicines available to cure them.
 Patients are easily allocated to the doctors.
 Doctors Search is possible.
 Today’s patient list help doctors to search their patients

Our system has been developed under a robust and powerful that handles the security issues at
application level.
The security features of the System include:-
- User registration – all users to the application have to have access and they are defined in the
application and given specific access roles and functions on the system.
- System users are restricted to access programs and data as specified with the access roles when
they are defined.
- Program access restriction times - this security feature restricts access to programs to specified
times and when necessary even weekend access.
- A privileged user audits Audit Trail - all transactions in the applications. These transactions
involve data entry, updating or deletion. Infinitely scalable database – the application uses the
Oracle database which is a dynamic database. It records amount of data it huge ranges from small
to very huge amount of data. This database is also very reliable and robust.

1. Login Module:-
The user details should be verified against the details in the user tables and if it is valid user, they should be
entered into the system. Once entered, based on the user type access to the different modules to be enabled /
disabled.

2. Patient management module:-
Here we can register the new patient, during registration we enter the basic information regarding
patient.
There are two types of patient one is inpatient and another is Outpatient. If patient is inpatient then
we can check the availability of room in particular ward.

3. Pharmacy management module:-
Complete Pharmacy management system from medicine sales to inventory management to billing.
This helps to maintain the details of the medicines issued to the patients. It also helps to maintain
the inventory details, the purchase, manufacturer and supplier details.
It comprises of:-

 Stock & Inventory Control Statements
4. Dialysis management module:-
Enables real-time tracking of changes in patient records and dialysis sessions.
It comprises of:-
 General record specific to dialysis
 Session tracking and history
 Session planning
 History of the physician's dialysis and peritoneal dialysis orders

5. Lab management module:-


- In this module we have to fill up the form and send the request to laboratory test. Here we
can also see the pending request. We can also search the particular patient and view the
laboratory information of particular patient.
- The laboratory module is integrated with the in-patient/ outpatient registration, wards and
billing modules.
- The lab technician with privilege to access the system can add the details of the new patient
and the existing patient.
- The test performed in the lab will be categorized and the cost and the standard result will be
mapped to each of the test performed.
- Requests can be made from various points, including wards, billing, sample collection and
the laboratory receiving point.

- The diagnostic report helps the lab tech or doctor to update the observed result for a
particular test against the standard result for the entire required test and generate the total
cost for all the performed tests
- This module enables the maintenance of investigation requests by the patient and
generation of test results for the various available services, such as
 Clinical pathology.
 X-ray.
 Ultrasound tests.
 Medical Lab.

6. Blood bank management module:-


This module has been created with a purpose of replacing all of paperwork done at the Blood
Bank. All aspects of blood banking, be it Donor Record Management, Component Separation,
Blood Search, Cross-matching, Compatibility Tests, Patient Management, Blood Issue, Billing,
Inventory, Blood Availability, Numerous Reports

7. Outpatient clinics management module:-

services and information is tracked in this module.

 Accidents and medical emergencies information will be stored in this module.
 Patients needing medical emergency will be admitted in casualty ward.
 After few hours patients can be shifted from casualty ward to other ward
10. Store management module:-
This module helps hospital staff to concentrate on patient care while it automates the entire supply
chain life cycle. It facilitates easy to access information with the least amount of intervention. It
captures information using the latest technology and constantly tracks the inventory in the hospital.
It comprises of:-
 Makes receipts, stores and issues stock items
 Provides up-to-date information on current stock levels and location
 Produces exception reports to be used to identify fast and slow moving stock items
 Updates stock balances against receipts, consumption and rejections
 Supports purchase order tracking & purchase assistance information

11. Doctor’s Appointment Management :-


Doctors Appointment Management is centralized online calendar which displays doctor’s availability and
available slots at all time.

12. HR management module:-
Any hospital includes huge number of employees. The organizational structure of the hospital includes
an administrative department; the department does not have any written documented procedures
relating to human resources management. This project aimed to develop a human resource
management procedural supported with forms for the use of the administration department at the
hospital to be as reference guide. This project provided updated Organizational Structure, Job
Descriptions for different employees, Standard Operating Procedures for human resource department
and their related forms. All this lead to improve the performance of the hospital by providing a
documented procedural supported with forms.

spent by the patient right from the entry point. The payment details of the patient with can be viewed any time
at Patient Account Status which shows the total records till the date. The company sponsorship norms or other
medical reimbursement facilities provided to the patient can be recorded in this module.

- Provides financial management over the entire hospital operation such as Buy drugs for hospital or equipment,
also provides overall profit and loss details.
