1 Android framework

Android is categorised as an Open source platform. It is owned by Open


Handset Alliance which is a consortium of 84 firms and also is created
Google. The aim behind the development of android is to accelerate innovation
and technology in mobile phones. The result of which it has bring in a vast
variety for mobile innovation.

Android has become one of the leading platforms that is not only free but also is
an open platform. It also provides significant amount of difference which differs
software from hardware that executes on it. It marks for majority of devices that
are operating the similar application. It also provides an environment that is
much friendlier for consumers as well as the developers.

Android is a total software parcel for mobile devices. From very early on the
tool and frameworks that comprises the developer kit is offered by the android
team for making mobile applications as accessible as possible. A number of
times one does not even need particularly an android phone but can always have
an option for one. Android comes with a liberty that one may use a generalised
program or can customize it according to his/her own choice.
HISTORY OF ANDROID

The foundation of android took place in Plato Alto California during October in
2003 by Nick Sears, Andy Rubin, Rich Miner and Chris White. The very first
motif of the company was the development of software or an operating system
that could work efficiently with the digital gadgets such as cameras. Later the
company discovered to pitch it as a mobile handset OS, therefore facing
competition from the Microsoft Windows mobile. History of android started in
2005 with Google purchasing Android Inc for at least $50 million.

From December 2006, there were rumours about Google wanting to enter into
the mobile market. Due to the competition from then launched Apple iPhone
made the android specification to be a touch screen supported with the company
of the physical buttons. The very first Android supported mobile device that
was made commercially available was T-mobile G1 also known as the HTC
Dream.

From 2008, this open source platform has undergone with plenty number of
improvements that have directly enhanced its software, accumulating vast
features as well as also working on the bugs and tried to fix them.
Thus, with each passing year Android has kept on updating as well as
improving to match with the current trends. It was very early decided that
android will give its users a great deal of experience that was not outdated but
something that they had not experienced before.

Android uses a lightweight relational database, SQLite for all the storage
purposes.

4. Messaging

It supports both types of messaging SMS & MMS.


5. Multi-tasking

Android gives the privilege to its users to use more than one application at the
same time.

6. Multi-Language

It supports bi-directional and single direction text.

7. Wi-Fi Direct

Android allows its users to pair their apps directly when they have a high-
bandwidth connection.

8. Android Beam

Android Beam is a feature of android that allows users to share the information
using NFC enabled devices at the same time.

Android kept improving and fixed bugs after every passing year, most of this
task was achieved by releasing new android version every year, and android
