1960 (IBSYS)
IBSYS was the tape based operating
system that IBM supplied with its
IBM 7090 computer it was really a
basic monitor program that read
control card images and data cards
of individual jobs.
1969 (UNIX)
Unix is a multitasking, multi-
user computer operating system
that derived from original AT&T
Unix in 1969 by Ken Thompson.
He wanted to create an Multi-user
operating system to run “Space
travel” games.
1981 ( IBM PC DOS)
The term DOS can refer to
any operating system, but it
is most often used as a
shorthand for MS-DOS
(Microsoft disk operating system).
Originally developed by Microsoft
for IBM, MS-DOS was the standard
operating system for IBM-compatible
personal computers 1985 (Windows 1.0)
It was released in November
20, 1985 as the first version
of the microsoft windows
line. It runs as a graphical
16-bit multi-tasking shell
on top of an existing MS-
DOS installation.

Android is a mobile operating system
(OS) based on the Linux Kernel,
developed by Google. With a user
interface based on direct manipulation.
Android is design primarily for touch
screen mobile devices such as smart-
phones and tablet computers.
