Abstract
A class of entrepreneurs is must for the economic and industrial development of the country. They
need to be motivated and developed to undertake the entrepreneurial activities. The entrepreneurship is
not something in born; it can be developed in the individual gradually through various kinds of
interventions and development programmes. To create an idea to start a business, to develop and assess
the idea accordingly, to generate and collect the information of idea, to organise and manage it and to
take decisions for all these and to bear risk and to remain creative and innovative, etc. are the functions/
activities of the present day entrepreneurs. To do all these entrepreneurial activities entrepreneurship
development programmes are essential. Those who have decided to become entrepreneurs must
have basic understanding, visionary power, sense of value, risk-taking capacity, innovative nature etc.
as basic qualities. The required entrepreneurial skills can be imparted among them with the help of
various Entrepreneurial Development Programmes(EDPs). Though training interventions and
programmes in the form of EDPs exist in almost all countries of the world, there are no standardised
formats for it. There is a wide variation across countries in the manner in which EDPs are organised
and the inputs imparted and the mode of imparting the inputs. At the same time, one can observe that
all interventions and EDPs ultimately try to strengthen the latent entrepreneurship in the individual. In
this regard, this paper discusses about the significance of entrepreneurs,EDPs and the stages of EDP.

Abstract
Entrepreneurship is a significant contributor to economic growth in any economy, as it leads to
innovations, intensification of competitiveness in business, wealth creation, and generation of
employment. Entrepreneurship is widely perceived as starting and managing one’s own business by
one’s ability to convert ideas into action. This capability of a person to convert ideas into new venture
creation and to ensure its survival and growth is termed as entrepreneurial competency. The
entrepreneurial competencies are an important aspect of entrepreneurial behavior. The major factors
leading to entrepreneurship development process provide a supportive setting wherein the entrepreneur
can realise the benefits of entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurial education is one such tool to catalyse entrepreneurial development. Entrepreneurial

education courses provide entrepreneurs with the knowledge pertaining to entrepreneurship
development such as scouting, creating, and evaluating business opportunities and taking up new
ventures.

Entrepreneurship is not something that is innate, rather it is a discipline that can be learned through in
addition to one’s own creativity. This paper focuses on the role of business courses, more specifically

entrepreneurial education, in building up core entrepreneurial competencies. The study uses correlation
analysis and factor analysis to identify the core entrepreneurial competencies.

The results of the study suggest three categories of core entrepreneurial competencies:
technical/practical (identifying & acting on opportunities, systematic planning, problem-solving, and
information-seeking), attitudinal (self-confidence, persistence, and commitment to work), and inter-
personal (persuasion, assertiveness, and use of influence strategies). While the technical/practical
competencies are usually incorporated in entrepreneurship courses in management education
programmes, the attitudinal and inter-personal competencies require focused soft skills training and
experiential learning, which are often not specifically incorporated into entrepreneurship courses. This
is an area in which entrepreneurial education can be further improved.

How to make an effective communication by proper utilisation of our brain. –
This paper explains the involvement of our brain for effective communication. Communication is the
key to personal and career success. Business and customers are one in the same. Both require
dedication, good communication honesty and trust to one another. A good relationship starts with good
communication. If you talk to person in a language he understands that goes to his head (brain). That is
not a problem of language instead it’s the problem in the way we communicate. One of the biggest
problems of communication is the illusion that takes place. This paper helps to avoid the illusion and
helps to make our communication an effective one.

Entrepreneurship: Realities and Ways Forward

Sangameswaran Rajendran and M. Boopathy Raja

Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education,
TANUVAS-VCRI, Tirunelveli
Abstract:

Knowledge sharing, exchanging and dissemination are elements in a broader theme which is
knowledge management. The central purpose of knowledge management is to transform information
and intellectual assets into enduring value (Metcalfe, 2005). Livestock is an integral component in
Indian Agricultural system in promoting livelihood and ensure employment to the rural poor. In India,
Government, Developmental agencies and inter-governmental institutions are investing heavily in
promoting skill oriented agriculture related developmental programmes. Like Agriculture, the avenues
of livestock entrepreneurship can be classified into four major categories viz., service providers, farm
level producers, Input producers, value addition and marketing livestock products. The aim of the paper
is to find answer to the question: Why can be regional knowledge management system considered as a
vehicle for promoting livestock entrepreneurship rather than technological perspective. This research
approach is based on reviewing organisational dynamism and institutional dynamism of Agriculture
and its allied technology system. This paper compiles and synthesis on the scope of use of ICT enabled
regional knowledge management system for transfer of technology for best management practices by
entrepreneurs. Emphasis is also laid on embedding the farmers to regional tacit knowledge
management system about Animal husbandry innovations. The major deterrents in livestock
entrepreneurship are lack of seed capital, lack of regional knowledge on scientific innovations and poor
entrepreneurial orientation. The major deterrents in promoting livestock entrepreneurship from
institutional perspective are biasness towards certain trajectory of technologies and poor balance of
explicit and tacit knowledge. It is concluded that organisational dynamism and institutional dynamism

ACHIEVE IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP BY FACILITATING CORPORATE

ENTREPRENEURS

Nivetha.T , Moghana Lavanya.S and Ashok.K.R

Today’s business world is very competitive and always evolving. Many businesses have a
problem keeping up in today’s world and this is what leads to their downfall.
Corporate Entrepreneurship is a process used to develop new businesses, products, services or
processes inside of an existing organization to create value and generate new revenue growth through
entrepreneurial thought and action. An entrepreneurial manager links up discrete pieces of new
technical knowledge that would provide a solution to a customer problem, matches this technical
capability with the satisfaction of the market, and garners resources and skills needed to take the
venture to the next stage. This process leads to the birth of new businesses and to the transformation of
companies through a renewal of their key idea. Organizations benefit the most from corporate
entrepreneurship and they make profits. One of the biggest advantages of encouraging entrepreneurial
ideas in a company is that the company saves money on employment and still makes a profit. Unlike
other business processes that might follow a standard work process, corporate entrepreneurship is less
structured, it’s more organic. It’s an attitude, a competence, a way of thinking and acting. It requires
managing the inherent tension between maximizing economic value and developing human capital.
The focus is on outcomes, the business value we want to deliver to customers and the organization.
Corporate entrepreneurs autonomy and commitment allow them to accelerate the
development cycle and to increase their project’s chances of success while minimizing the costs and
risks inherent in pursuing innovative activities.

ABSTRACT
Microfinance is the provision that provides access to various financial services such as credit,
savings, micro insurance, remittances, leasing to low-income clients including consumers and
self-employed, who traditionally lack access to banking and related services. It emerged as a
noble substitute for informal credit and an effective and powerful instrument for poverty
reduction among people who are financially constrained and vulnerable in various countries.
The entrepreneurship development in any country leads to the employment generation and
poverty eradication. Small entrepreneurs suffer from a great deal of indebtedness and are
subject to exploitation in the credit market through high interest rates and lack of convenient
access to credit. They need credit to fund their working capital needs on a day-to-day basis as
well as long term needs like emergencies and other income related activities. Therefore this
creates the dependency of micro entrepreneur on microfinance lending institutions.
Microfinance playing a vital role in economic development by entrepreneurship development

catalyst to avoid unsolicited problems in the organization. In this turbulent time, Entrepreneurs has to
concentrate more on developing the emotionally intelligent workforce.

Emotional Intelligence is about using people`s emotions intelligently to gain the performance as we
wish to see within our self and achieve business results. The prime objective of this study is to reveal
diversified intelligence in entrepreneurship

The pioneer in the research of emotional intelligence by Salovey and Mayer (1990) defined a model of
emotional intelligence, which is considered as the first model in this context. According to them
“emotional intelligence is a subset of social intelligence, that helps to scrutinize own and other’s
emotions and to regulate them for problem solving”. This study also helps to understand the
entrepreneurial behavior and entrepreneurial potential.

Goldman model has also suggested four major EI domains such as Self Awareness, Self –
Management, Social Awareness and Relational Skills. To achieve high organizational goals and
fulfilling the expectations of the stakeholders in the 21st century, the intentional skills for enhancement
of emotional intelligence in entrepreneurship is highly required.

The primary difference between one’s successful organization and the other’s derailment is emotional
intelligence. In each situation, emotional arousal offers two possible outcomes: Success = Being aware
of your emotions and managing them so your behaviors are intelligently and proactively driven,
resulting in intentional and successful outcomes. Derailment = Losing control of your emotions so your
behaviors are impulsively and reactively driven, resulting in unintended and potentially costly
outcomes.

The results shed light on certain areas that need to be taken into consideration when aiming at
developing and enhancing entrepreneurial activities.

Keywords: Emotional Intelligence, Uncertainty, hostile, Derailment.

ABSTRACT

Achieving the balance between work and personal life is becoming increasingly difficult due to
the pressure current society has placed on individuals. It defines what work/life balance is and identifies
the benefits it can bring from both employer and employee perspectives. It also examines the
complications in achieving the balance between work and personal goals and discusses the current
trends and solutions organisations have in place for their employees to assist in achieving the balance
between work and their life.

Work life balance refers to how people combine paid work with life’s other responsibilities. The
work life balance is an issue that is important both to the organizations and to employees. This issue has
come to the fore due to a multitude of changes in the work place, in employee demographics and in the
family sphere. Market is becoming highly competitive and companies are outsourcing to reduce labor
costs. The employees are thus under a lot of pressures and feel compelled to put in longer hours of work
to prove their worth and meet the expectations of the organizations.

Work-life balance signifies the extent to which an employee experiences feeling fulfilled and having his
or her needs met in both work and non-work facets of life. Through experiencing greater work-life
balance, individuals report feeling better in general and tend to behave in favorable ways. Historically,
the influx of women in the workplace jumpstarted research into how female employees could
successfully care for families while working, but today work-life balance is discussed with respect to
multiple affected groups. In the modern era of technology and convenience, organizations have begun to
provide their employees with helpful ways to balance their work and non-work roles through benefits
like flexible work hours, telecommuting, and so on. However, offering these benefits is not enough; the
organization and management stand behind its promotion of healthy work-life balance for employees by
creating a culture as such and designing policies that support this initiative. Otherwise, employees feel
pressure to continuously work, which can be perpetuated by mobile devices and constant accessibility of
the internet that allows employees to transport a workstation wherever they go. Results indicate that in
general many people report experiencing poor work-life balance but not for lack of wanting it; therefore,
employers and employees alike should consider what is most important for achieving this healthy
balance.

Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility of

Mutual Fund Industry in India

ABSTRACT:

Traditionally, investing has focussed around delivering financial returns. While the use of
proceeds has always been important, the consequence on the environment and humanity has not been a
consideration in decision-making. While some businesses have corporate social responsibility (CSR)
programmes and some investors follow policies around ethical investing—avoiding sectors such as
tobacco, alcohol, gambling etc.—there have only been a few such instances and the implementation of
these policies has been ad hoc and inconsistent.

However, times are changing. Globally, an ethical and long-term sustainable investing strategy is
gaining importance. Stakeholders now recognize the importance of responsible investing and the role of
financial markets in fostering sustainable development.

Firms and investors acknowledge that social and environmental issues can be material to the
financial outlook of investments, and ultimately, their own performance. There is a noticeable trend,
that, to the extent it is consistent with their investment objectives, investors are now looking to
incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues as part of their decision-making
processes.

A Study on Farmers Attitude and Preference towards Export of Agricultural Products in Salem,
Erode and Namakkal Districts of Tamil Nadu

Prof.Dr.V.R.Palanivelu Mr.A.Apdhul Kathar

ABSTRACT

Agriculture occupies a central position in the Indian economy. It contributes 29.4 percent of
GDP, loying 64 percent of the country's workforce. Food price volatility has had a dramatic impact on
the food security of poor households in developing countries. Equally serious has been the impact of
long-term trends such as a slowdown of agricultural productivity growth, urbanization and an
increasingly sophisticated supply chain. These changes have led farmers to focus on exports and other
means of commercialization for better returns. For this a positive attitude of farmers towards farm
management and export benefits is essential. With this back ground, the present study is taken up with
the rigor.

Role of Governmental and Non-Governmental Agencies in Promoting Entrepreneurship in India

Dr.D.Manikandan

Abstract
Finance and support are just like legs on an enterprise stands. Absence or inadequacy of one
makes the other ineffective. Both are relevant and necessary for enterprise to function effectively. There
is research evidence to believe that availability of finance is a necessary condition but not the only
condition to make an enterprise run effectively. Non-financial support is also equally necessary to make
an enterprise function smoothly. The reason is not difficult to seek. Availability of finance on soft
terms cannot duly compensate for the lack of infrastructural facilities (Papola and Tiwari: 1981). In
view of this, the present paper discusses the role of government and non-government agencies in
promoting Entrepreneurship in India.

ABSTRACT:
The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate consumer attitudes and preferences towards
local and foreign brand purchases against a background of factors like Prestige, Quality,
Availability and Price. It was found that the quality of global brands was perceived to be generally
higher and superior and symbolic to local brands. Most consumers also associated greater
accessibility of foreign brands in the Iran market. As companies become global, managers must
possess a thorough understanding of the attitudinal and behavioral characteristics of emerging
consumer markets, because what is known about consumers in one part of the world is not
applicable to consumers in other parts. A survey design was employed to collect data for this
research. A total of 200 questionnaires were collected from young adults within the Tehran area.
However, for the purpose of this research, young adults will be defined as those aged between 21

ABSTRACT

Green marketing is the marketing of products that are presumed to be environmentally safe.
Thus green marketing incorporates a broad range of activities, including product modification,
changes to the production process, packaging changes, as well as modifying advertising. Yet
defining green marketing is not a simple task where several meanings intersect and contradict each
other; an example of this will be the existence of varying social, environmental and retail
definitions attached to this term. Other similar terms used are Environmental Marketing and
Ecological Marketing According to the American Marketing Association, green marketing is the
marketing of products that are presumed to be environmentally safe. Thus green marketing

While the question of whether these wants are reasonable or achievable is important, this
issue will not be addressed in this paper. In market societies where there is "freedom of choice", it
has generally been accepted that individuals and organizations have the right to attempt to have
their wants satisfied. As firms face limited natural resources, they must develop new or alternative
ways of satisfying these unlimited wants. Ultimately green marketing looks at how marketing
activities utilize these limited resources, while satisfying consumers wants, both of individuals and
industry, as well as achieving the selling organization's objectives.

Dr.M.Senthilkumar

A.Mohammedrishath

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is one of the most important inputs in the economic development of a country.

and organizations. An individual engages in entrepreneurial activities before the firm is established
and then becomes an owner after the firm is established. In the case of India, Entrepreneur have
performed below expectation due to a combination of different problems themselves through
environmental related factors, instability of governments and frequent government policy changes

Abstract

Media-based physical activity interventions include a variety of print, graphic, audiovisual,

and broadcast media programs intended to influence behavior change. New information technology
allows print to be delivered in personalized, interactive formats that may enhance efficacy. Media-
based interventions have been shaped by conceptual models from health education, Social
Cognitive Theory, the Trans theoretical Model and Social Marketing frameworks. The printing
press was the great innovation in early modern information technology, but economists have found
no macroeconomic evidence of its impact. This article exploits city-level data. Between 1500 and
1600, European cities where printing presses were established in the 1400s grew 60% faster than
otherwise similar cities. Cities that adopted printing in the 1400s had no prior advantage, and the
association between adoption and subsequent growth was not due to printers choosing auspicious
locations. These findings are supported by regressions that exploit distance from Mainz,
Germany—the birthplace of printing—as an instrument for adoption.

The phenomenon of media entrepreneurship is currently attracting increasing interest by

scholars and practitioners alike. However, most of this attention is devoted to entrepreneurship
within new media, while some of the traditional media industries—for example print media—are
believed to be the living dead without much future promise. Nonetheless, sustainable
entrepreneurial ventures do emerge in these traditional media industries. These ventures
demonstrate that new venture creation and survival in traditional media industries is in fact possible
and that the current scholarly focus on new media entrepreneurial activities is too restrictive. This
article conceptualizes and explores the phenomenon of entrepreneurship in traditional media
industries. Gringo and the team behind it have received massive media attention as well as several
prizes for their innovativeness, and stirred up the emotions of many people. A number of
propositions are derived from the case, which can serve as a starting point of future empirical work
on media entrepreneurship in traditional industries. In addition, these propositions can serve as
practical guiding lights for (potential) media entrepreneurs.

ABSTRACT

The essential role of health care management professionals in a hospital’s top management team is
a contentious subject. Categorically, the Health Care entrepreneur at top plays an important part in
balancing health care and financial outcomes. It is believed wisdom among medics that the
managerial director’s position should be tough and on an equal footing with the medical director.
There is some substantiation that managers’ time spent and work can manipulate quality and safety
clinical outcomes, processes and performance. Though there is a dearth of empirical studies, further
undermined by a lack of objective outcome measures and little examination of actual actions
undertaken. We present a model to summarise the conditions and activities that affect quality
performance of a health care entrepreneurial aspirants.

Abstract:
Social entrepreneurship is the use of start-up companies and other entrepreneurs to develop,
fund and implement solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues. This concept may be
applied to a variety of organizations with different sizes, aims, and beliefs. Social entrepreneurship
is all about recognizing the social problems and achieving a social change by employing
entrepreneurial principles, processes and operations. A social entrepreneur is somebody who takes
up a pressing social problem and meets it with an innovative or path breaking solution. Culture in a
society is learned and is passed on from one generation to the next culture is nurtured, fostered and
promoted. A culture is usually divided into sub-cultures based upon geography or such human
characteristics as age or ethnic background. The entrepreneur could therefore mean to be an
individual who perceives the profitability in production of goods or service, and organizes
accordingly. Culture represents the manner in which members of a group (whether it is society or a
business group) regulate their behavior in order to be in harmony with each other and with other
groups in that society. Ethics is that branch of philosophy which is concerned with rightness or
wrongness, goodness or badness of human conduct. In the case of a business organization, the
definition of human would extent to all activities carried out by people in the course of business.

India

____________________________________________________________________
Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are the leading causes of death globally, killing more
people each year than all other causes combined. Nearly 80% of NCD deaths occur in low- and
middle-income countries. NCDs are caused, to a large extent, by four behavioural risk factors that
are pervasive aspects of economic transition, rapid urbanization and 21st century lifestyles:
tobacco use, unhealthy diet, insufficient physical activity and the harmful use of alcohol. Improved
health care management, early detection and timely treatment are another effective approach for
reducing the impact of NCDs. Many NCD-related health-care interventions are cost effective,
especially compared to costly procedures that may be necessary when detection and treatment are
late and the patient reaches advanced stages of the disease. Health systems need to be further
strengthened to deliver an effective, realistic and affordable package of interventions and services
for people with NCDs. NCDs contribute to around 5.87 million deaths that account for 60 % of all
deaths in India. In this study, an attempt is made to analyze the prevention and control of NCD in
India. In summary, effectively preventing and controlling NCDs requires engaging actors and
partners from various sectors who hold different agendas and reach different populations and
communities. NCDs have potentially serious socioeconomic consequences, through increasing
individual and household impoverishment and hindering social and economic development.

poverty reducing growth depends on the quality of growth: its composition, distribution and

which countries grow is substantially determined by 1) their ability to integrate with the global
economy through trade and investment; 2) their capacity to maintain sustainable government

contracts can be enforced and property rights can be established”Globally, small scale enterprises
have contributed enormously in improving the standard of living of the people by providing jobs to
relieve the society of social embarrassment, stimulating indigenous entrepreneurship and utilizing

Abstract :

National level production of livestock and livestock products in india has increased over the
years even though many households involved in livestock production have continued to be poor
and food insecure. It is perceived that poor performance of dairy businesses is stemming from poor
business growth caused by certain business related factors. Consequently, a study was conducted to
establish factors influencing business growth of smallholder dairy farming enterprises in Salem
District of sankari taluk, Tamilnadu. The study established that business management skills
influence growth of diary enterprises and that interaction with extension service providers
positively impacted on the earnings of the dairy farmers. Further it was established that the size of
the dairy businesses are not directly related to age of the enterprises implying stagnation of the
older enterprises as it is not consistent with growth model of business enterprises .The objectives of
the study were to establish the influence of farmer’s business management skills, and extension
support services on the growth of dairy farming business.

Abstract

Indian automobile industry is going through a technological change where each firm is
engaged in changing its processes and technologies to sustain the competitive advantage and
provide customers with the optimized products and services. Technical analysis is mainly based on
three assumptions namely, market discounts everything, price moves in trends, and history tends to
repeat itself. It is mainly concerned with the study of historical price movements of the stocks and
its volume of trade in the market to predict the future trend movements of the stocks. However, it
does not consider any fundamental factors of the company like earnings, dividends, growth rates
etc. The present study has been undertaken to examine how technical analysis useful to take buy or
sell decisions of stock and to know how technical tools are used to predict the future behaviour of
the stock. The study helps people to get an idea on investment on right stock.

ABSTRACT
India is famous as a great country of many cultures, traditions, religions and geographical
characteristics. However, at the same time, India is also known by the sobriquet male
chauvinistic nation‟. The male chauvinist half of the nation tends to forget that India is referred
to as „Bharat Mata‟ the mother to every Indian, as well. Traditionally, women have been
compelled to play the second fiddle in every sphere, be it in family or public life. Such in order
of things in India in spite of the fact that women nowadays, are no less proficient than men in
any field. They have now made their presence felt in every sphere of life. Women have
ultimately discarded their homely image and are now making meaningful contribution to the
progress of the nation but, are the progress made by women in all encompassing phenomenon, or
is it confined to some specific cases only? Have all women been empowered? If not what is the
story of the women who are not empowered? Has the common woman have vested with powers
to drive the nation? It is precisely these questions that this essay will attempt to throw some light
upon. Here the researcher analyzing the concept, women empowerment by incorporating all

Role of Private Equity in Promoting Entrepreneurs in India

The research article states the constraints for Private Equity funding of new research projects and
ideas ventures in Indian economies. In addition to capital, private equity investors strive to
provide entrepreneurs with the support they need to create up-scalable business with sustainable
growth, while providing their contributors with outstanding returns on investment, for the higher
risks they assume. Private Equity (PE) is a medium to long-term finance provided in return for
an equity stake in potentially high-growth unlisted companies. Private equity investments are
usually made to ensure a turnaround for distressed companies or to enable liquidity events such
as an initial public offering or a sale to a public company. It plays a significant role economic
growth by creating jobs, generating returns for its investors and thus building better businesses
by creating real value.

A private equity firm is called a General Partner (GP) and its investors that commit capital are
called Limited Partners (LPs). PE investment comes primarily from institutional investors and
accredited investors, who can dedicate substantial sums of money for extended time periods. PE

firms will typically look to hold investments for between four and seven years, at which time
they will look to sell, or ‘exit’, their stake, either on the stock market, to a corporate buyer or to
another investor.

In India, Private Equity is a Category II Alternative Investment Fund. Category II AIF are those
AIFs for which no specific incentives or concessions are given. They do not undertake leverage
or borrowing other than to meet the permitted day to day operational requirements, as is
specified for Category I AIFs. eg. Private Equity or debt fund. Private Equity generally finance
new and rapidly growing companies typically knowledge – based, sustainable, unsalable
companies, assist in the development of new products or services, add value to the company
through active participation on the board or in partnership with management, take higher risks
with expectation of higher rewards , have a long term orientation.

Women entrepreneurship was a neglected domain during the past, but with the spread of

In the same way when we speak about a nation, the Women entrepreneurship plays a dominant

of taking advantage of market opportunities or meet strong competition. The market is one of the
key factors determining the possibility to introduce innovative solutions in the SME sector as the
analysis of market processes allows making decisions concerning, for instance, the
implementation of a new technology, the date of launching a new product into the market, spatial
sales range, etc. These companies more and more frequently undertake measures that are aimed
at increasing their capability to create innovative products or organisational solutions. The road
from the idea to the implementation of innovation, however, is laborious and time-consuming
and is connected with overcoming numerous barriers. The most important obstacles include: the
lack of financial resources, high costs of innovation implementation, the lack of external sources
of financing, the unpredictable demand and access to knowledge. Overcoming these obstacles
requires the presence of an efficiently functioning institutional support system for the

The MSME sector in Tamilnadu is highly heterogeneous in terms of the size of the
enterprises, variety of products and services, and levels of technology. The sector not only plays
a critical role in providing employment opportunities at comparatively lower capital cost than
large industries but also helps in industrialization of rural and backward areas, reducing regional
imbalances and assuring more equitable distribution of national income and wealth. The MSMEs
complement large industries as ancillary units and contribute enormously to the socio-economic
development of the country. The MSMEs are a very heterogeneous group of businesses usually
operating in the manufacturing, trade, agri-business, and service sectors. They include a wide
variety of firms such as village handicraft makers, small machine shops, computer software firms
and so on that possess a wide range of sophistication and skills. Some are dynamic, innovative,
and growth-oriented while others are satisfied to remain small and perhaps family owned. It
usually operates in the formal sector of the economy and employs mainly wage-earning workers.
It is often classified by the number of employees or by the value of their assets. The present
study aimed to understand the role of MSME in the promotion of entrepreneurship in Tamilnadu.
The required secondary data has been collected in the published report of Commissioner ate of
Industries and Commerce – Government of Tamilnadu. The data has been analyzed by using the
appropriate statistical tools like correlation, multivariate regression, CAGR and so on.

Women entrepreneurs are getting more important in the conversion of social interactions
along the gender lines. Majority of previous studies focus on entrepreneurs in wide-ranging, thus
leaving a gap for the current study to concentrate in women entrepreneurs. Studies on women
entrepreneurship have witness a rapid growth over the past 30 years. First is to examine the
number of papers published on women entrepreneurship in 12 established entrepreneurship
journals from 2000 to 2018. Women entrepreneurship is considered an important tool in enabling
female empowerment and liberation. In the light of recent world events, this has become a
crucial area to study and understand – especially with respect to motivations, constraint and cost.
