Restore configurations of N301 using
TpUpgrade

Before you start, please be noted:

- Only N301 with the FCC ID number ends with -16 can use this option to restore configurations.
- To get the FCC ID number, see the bottom label on your router.

- This option could be used repeatedly. To this end, press the WPS/RST button for at least 1 minute,
then release. Wait for the router to clear the previous configurations. Then follow this user guide to
restore configurations again.

The following table describes the procedure for restoring configurations of N301 using TpUpgrade.

1. Backing up configurations of your router.
Step 1 Connect your computer to the LAN port of the router.

It does not matter if the router is connected to the internet.


Step 2 Start a web browser on your computer, and access tendawifi.com for logging in to the web UI of the
router.
Step 3 Choose Administration in the left navigation bar, scroll down to the Device Management module, and
click Backup to save configurations of your router to your local computer.

- Remember the file path for later use.

- If the following message prompts, click Keep.


2. Setting up your computer to the Static IP address 192.168.1.6. (Example: Win7)
Step 1 Right-click in the lower-right corner of the desktop and choose Open Network and Sharing Center.

Step 2 Click Local Area Connection > Properties.

Step 3 Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).


Step 4 Select Use the following IP address and Use the following DNS server addresses. Set the IP address to
192.168.1.6, and the subset mask to 255.255.255.0. Click OK.
3. Running TpUpgrade.
Step 1 Open the toolkit named TpUpgrade.
Step 2 Copy the configuration file you saved previously to this folder.
Step 3 Run the RunStandAlone.bat and the RunStandAloneMT.bat at the same time, see the following figures.
Keep these two dialog boxes open.
Step 4 Connect your computer to the WAN port of the router.
Step 5 Press the WPS/RST button of the router for at least 8 seconds, then release.

End
Wait a moment. Your configuration will be restored successfully.
Verification
Step 1 Connect your computer back to the LAN port of the router.
Step 2 Set up your computer to Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address
automatically.
Step 3 Start a web browser on your computer, and access tendawifi.com for logging in to the web UI of the
router.
Check if your configuration has been restored successfully.
