My name is Albert and I was born on February 8th, 1985 in Changhua Province, Taiwan. My parents are Chen Lee and Ann Lee. Both
of my parents are still alive and they live together in my village, Guangzo, 250 KM away from Changhua city where I live now. I have two
sisters, Chinlong and Taising, and a brother, Ancheing. All my brothers and sisters have married and live happily with their children.
My early childhood was a typical poor class environment circa the 1990’s. Like other people in my villages, until now, my father works
as a farmer and my mother as a housewife. However, my mother sometimes helps my father earn money too by selling agricultural products
like coffee, banana, and peanut. As other children, I remember that after school, my parents asked me to help them did something which I
could do, for example looked after my younger brother and sister, did laundry and washed the dishes.
Growing up with that situation made me a little difficult to manage my time to study, to make friends and to help my parents. Therefore, I forced
myself to help my parents as quickly as possible then continued studying independently at home.
I just spent about fourteen years to stay together with my parents since I moved to LingLIng City to continue my study to senior high
school. I knew, it was a difficult time for my parents to send me to the school due to financial problems. But, I convinced them that I was able to
handle that because I would find a scholarship to pay my tuition fee and finally they understood and allowed me to take the chance.
