BOB IN LONDON
Bob lives in a small flat in London. In the mornings, he wakes up and has a shower.
Then he makes breakfast. He usually has a typical English breakfast with eggs and
bacon. After that, he goes to work.
He works in an office in the center of London. He sits in front of the computer all day and
writes emails. He doesn’t like his job very much, but he likes earning money. At
12 o’clock he goes to lunch and has a sandwich. After lunch, he comes back to work and
writes more emails. At 5 o’clock he leaves work.
He sometimes sees his girlfriend in the evenings. She lives on the opposite side of
London, so he takes the Underground.
On weekends, he doesn’t have to work. He usually goes out for a few beers with his
friends on Friday night. On Saturday he goes shopping. On Sunday he goes to his
grandmother’s house for tea. On Monday he gets up early and goes back to work.

4.EL PRESENTE SIMPLE Y LAS PREPOSICIONES
DE LUGAR
Son palabras que relacionan a una persona, animal o cosa con otra persona, animal o
cosa. Es decir nos indica, por ejemplo, por dónde está andando una persona o cuando
ocurre una acción.
En ingles cuando detrás de una preposición va un verbo, éste debe estar en gerundio (
es decir , en forma ing).
Ejemplo:

Para indicar posesión en persona o animal la forma posesiva :

Outside: afuera ( en el exterior)
Over: sobre, por encima de, mas allá de.
Past: mas allá de (beyond) , por delante de ( in front of )
Round: alrededor de, cerca de
Through: Atravez de, por, por medio de.
Under: debajo de, bajo ( otra)
Underneath : por debajo de
Up: subido a, en lo alto de , arriba.
Upon: sobre, encima de
Within: dentro de, al alcance de.
El significado fundamental de On es `` en contacto con (una superficie) ``OFF indica una
``falta de contacto``; por esta razón las preposiciones ON y OFF se utilizan en los
interruptores eléctricos, para indicar, ``prendido`` y ``apagado``
Sirven para designar movimientos en relación con una superficie y con un espacio
delimitado por medio de fronteras: bordes, costados, etc. Es decir indican el lugar a donde
va una persona animal o cosa o lugar de donde viene.

2 CORTE
PASADO SIMPLE
DESARROLLO:
Lo utilizamos para hablar acciones que han ocurrido en el pasado, generalmente van
acompañadas de adverbios de tiempo para fortalecerla oración. ( yesterday, last week )
adverbios que conocemos como herramientas de pasado.
En el pasado simple debemos tener en cuenta que en Ingles manejamos dos tipos de
verbos:
Verbos irregulares: estos verbos los encontramos en una lista predeterminada, consta de
153 verbos. Para formar el pasado simple utilizamos los verbos de la segunda columna
correspondiente al pasado o pretérito.
Los verbos regulares son los mas comunes, a estos verbos le agregamos ed para formar
su pasado, debemos tener en cuenta:
WORK WORKED
Cuando termina en y después de consonante (letra) la cambiamos por i y le agregamos
ed
STUDY STUDIED
Para escribir oraciones pasado simple utilizamos las mismas estructuras del presente
simple, el auxiliar de pasado es did para todos los pronombres.

Cinderella lived in a small village in the north of England. She has two sisters: they were
very ugly. She got up every morning at six o`clock, then she made breakfast for her
sisters, and afterwards she cleaned the house. She worked all day. Her two ugly sisters
were very lazy; they never did any work because Cinderella did everything. Cinderella was
very un happy.
One day, the postman came to the house. He gave Cinderella’s sister an envelope, in the
envelope there were three invitations to a party at the Prince`s house. She said to her
sisters. ``Fantastic! There is a party at the Prince`s house. I can wear my new red dress
and Esmeralda can wear her new blue dress, but Cinderella can`t go because her dress is
old and dirty and she hasn`t got any shoes ``
On Saturday at 8 o`clock, the ugly sisters went to the party. Cinderella sat in the kitchen.
She was very sad. There was a ring at the door. Cinderella opened the door. There was a
ring at the door. The was a woman. She said, `` Hello! I am your fairy Godmother. Why are
you sad? `` Cinderella said, `` I want to go to the party but I haven`t got any beautiful
clothes. `` The fairy Godmother said, `` No problem, here is a new dress and some glass
shoes. There is a golden bicycle in the street. Now you can go to the party, but you must
return before 12 o`clock.`` Cinderella said, `` Thank you.`` She put on the glass shoes and
the red dress. She looked very pretty. Then she went to the party by bicycle.
The party was very good. At first, Cinderella to dance was very shy but after an hour, the
prince asked Cinderella to dance. They danced for a long time. The prince said, to
Cinderella, `` I like your dress and you are very pretty. `` Cinderella was very happy. She
forgot what time it was. Suddenly the clock rang. Cinderella said, `` Oh no! Must go. It is
12 o`clock.`` She ran home, at the door of the prince`s house she lost her shoe.
The next day, the prince was very sad because he was in love with Cinderella but he
didn`t know where she lived. He went to all the houses in the village and said. `` Do you
know whose shoe this is? `` Finally, he went to Cinderella`s house,. Cinderella opened the
door. The prince said, `` I love you. Do you want to marry me? `` Cinderella said, yes. ``
The wedding was the week after. Cinderella and the Prince were never unhappy again.

2. El pasado progresivo
Se traduce a las acciones que estuvieron ocurriendo en un pasado en forma progresiva.
Digase en español( estuve trabajando todo el día). El pasado progresivo se conjuga con el
pasado del verbo tobe ( was / were) y el verbo acompañado de ING ( working _ trabajando )
