Crochet Pattern
Please use caution around children and small animals, as small parts could
present a choking hazard!
Materials Used:
Any weight yarn (Model is created in I Love This Yarn~Madrigal, approximately
125 yds.)
Size G/6 (4.25mm) crochet hook
Small amount of stuffing
Optional~18mm safety eyes
Yarn needle

Size/Gauge:
Gauge is not important to this project. Use any size hooks and yarn you like.
Finished model measures approximately 7” tall, sitting.

Rnd 2: ch 1. Sc in each of the next 5 sts. Hdc in next st. Work 2 hdc in each of the
next 4 sts. Hdc in next st. Sc in each of the last 5 sts. Join to 1st st. (20 sts)

Assembly:
If using safety eyes, be sure to place them before stuffing. Otherwise, just stitch
your features on either before or after stuffing, as you desire, or leave plain.
Place one leg on either side of body, in desired position, and sew in place.
Place one arm on either side of body, between rnds 14-15, and stitch in place.
Place one ear on either side of head, between rnds 3 and 8, and sew in place.
Using yarn needle, and contrast color yarn, stitch a nose and mouth on center of
muzzle. Place muzzle on center front of face, just below the eyes and sew in
place.

My bear was designed to sit, but you could easily sew the legs to the bottom of
the body, and stuff firmly, to make him stand, or use buttons at the top of each
arm and each leg, for a jointed, poseable bear. Adding little jingle bells or crinkly
plastic inside the body before closing will make a fun tactile toy for little
fingers…The possibilities are endless! ☺
