Introduction

Introduction

Security during travel is primary concern for everyone.

Major deaths occur due to the careless of driver and also system failure.
According to the recent Surveys from IIHS it is stated that these can be
reduced by proper implementation of the notification systems.
The principle of the project is to reduce the number deaths which caused
due to lack of proper treatment at the right time.

Aim of project

Aim of project

Our main aim is to design an effective information system that can monitor
an automotive vehicle condition.
This project deals with the vehicle condition like Fuel quality and quantity,
and door locking system.
To get information about the location of vehicle, when accident happened.
To detect temperature.

Objectives of project

Objectives of project

This project uses IR sensor and accelerometer sensor which can detects the
accident of vehicle.
Using GPS location of accident is detected and notification message is sent
through GSM to registered mobile number.
Ultrasonic sensor is used as fuel level sensor to monitor fuel level.
Pressure sensor is used to check condition.

Component Details

Arduino MEGA

The Arduino Mega 2560 is a microcontroller

board based on the ATmega2560.
It has 54 digital input/output pins , 16 analog
inputs, 4 UARTs (hardware serial ports), a 16
MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a
power jack, and a reset button.
The Arduino can be used to develop
stand-alone interactive objects or it can be
connected to a computer to retrieve or send
data to the Arduino and then act on that data. Figure 2: Arduino MEGA

Hardware Component

Touch Sensor

A touch sensor is a type of equipment that

captures and records physical touch or
embrace on a device and/or object.
It enables a device or object to detect touch,
typically by a human user or operator.
A touch sensor may also be called a touch
detector.

Hardware Component

PH Sensor

The pH of a solution indicates how acidic or

basic it is.
The pH term translates the values of hydrogen
ion concentration per litre into number
between 0 and 14.
Shaft Diameter: 12 mm OD
Range: pH 0 to 14
Accuracy: +/- 0.2 pH units

Hardware Component

Ultrasonioc Sensor

The Ultrasonic Sensor are easy to used for

distance measuring.
It is based on measuring the properties of
sound waves with frequency above the human
audible range.
Their operation is mainly based on generation
of high frequency sound waves and then
receiving and evaluating the properties of
reflected pulse from the object. Figure 5: Ultrasonic Sensor

Hardware Component

Buzzer

A buzzer is an audio signaling device.

Buzzers are typically used in timers, alarming
devices.
It generally comprises of various switches or
sensors associated with a control unit.
Buzzer sounds a notice as a nonstop or
irregular humming or beeping sound.
Working voltage:3.5V to 5.5V.
Working current: ¡25mA.

Hardware Component

Temperature Sensor

LM35 is a precision IC temperature sensor with

its output proportional to the temperature.
With LM35, temperature can be measured
more accurately than with a thermistor.
The operating temperature range is from -55C
to 150C.
The output voltage varies by 10mV in response Figure 7: Temperature Sensor
to every oC rise/fall in ambient temperature.

Hardware Component

Bluetooth module

To setup Wireless Serial Communication,

HC-05 Bluetooth Module is most popular due
to its low price and extremely high features.
The data receive by the Bluetooth module
from android smart phone is fed as input to
the controller.
Bluetooth module should be paired with
mobile to control the system.

Hardware Component

GSM/GPS module

SIM908 module is a complete Quad-Band

GSM/GPRS module which combines GPS
technology for satellite navigation.
The compact design which integrated GPRS
and GPS in a SMT package will significantly
save both time and costs for customers to
develop GPS enabled applications.
Control via AT commands.
Supply voltage range GPRS: 3.2 4.8V GPS:
3.0 4.5V

Hardware Component

Accelerometer ADXL345

The ADXL345 is a small, thin, low power,

complete 3-axis accelerometer with signal
conditioned voltage outputs.
It can measure the static acceleration of
gravity in tilt-sensing applications, as well as
dynamic acceleration resulting from motion,
shock or vibration.
This board comes with an on board voltage
regulator and works at both 3.3V and 5V.

Hardware Component

LCD Display

LCD is made with either a passive matrix or

an active matrix display grid.
A 16×2 LCD means it can display 16
character per line and there are 2 such lines.
In this LCD each character is displayed in 5×7
pixel matrix.
