ACTIVITY PLAN

I. Nature of Activity: Nutrition Month Celebration 2019


(Theme: “Kumain nang wasto at maging aktibo…push natin ‘to!”)
When: July 5 – 31, 2019
Where: Ermita Catholic School
Who: All ECE, Elementary, and Junior High School

II. Rationale:
Nutrition is not only important in maintaining good health, but it is also linked to academic
and athletic success in students. To help promote good nutrition and health in the month of
July and throughout the school year, Ermita Catholic School provide students with
meaningful activities which will highlight importance of healthy living.

III. Objectives:
1. Help students learn about the importance of making beneficial nutrition decisions and
the effects of eating well on their physical and mental well-being.
2. Increase the awareness of community on developing sound eating and physical activity
habits.
3. Inculcate the core values and programs/advocacies of the school in varied activities
during the celebration of Nutrition Month 2019.

IV. Mechanics:
1. Seminar/Talk
a. In line with the belief that, “body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you
have from God”, series of seminars/talks will be conducted promoting the importance
of being healthy and fit through proper diet and exercise.
b. The following topics were chosen to feed different aspects of every individual with the
help of the speakers.

c. Parents/Guardians and school personnel will also be attending the seminar for
everybody in the community is responsible and concern of every one’s growth and
wellness. This schedule will be observed:

2. Launching of Nutrition Month
a. The school takes part in celebrating the Nutrition Month as per DepEd order.
b. The program flow is as follows:
-Audio-Visual Presentation about Health Awareness
-Production Number of the Student Coordinating Body and School Personnel as
Campaign to Wellness Program of the School
-Launching of Nutrition Month 2019 Theme
-Brief Orientation on Varied Activities for the Month Celebration
3. “Cookfest”
a. In line with the Nutrition Month theme, the school’s Cookfest will focus on nutritious
food.
b. The fest will be held on July 25, 2019; in the school grounds.
c. There should be three (3) representatives per class which would be accompanied by
their parents in preparing their gas stove. Electric stoves are strictly prohibited.
d. The representatives should bring their own ingredients and utensils during the contest
proper.
e. Advisers and other students except representatives and their parents are not allowed to
enter the fest venue.
f. The parents/guardians that would accompany the students should only help them
prepare their gas stove in order to have a safe contest for everyone.
g. Criteria for judging will be presented to the representatives on the orientation.
h. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd placers in each division.
4. Sandwich Making Activity (ECE and Elementary)
a. In line with the Nutrition Month theme, the school’s activity will focus on nutritious
food without the use of fire which is also in line with our Laudato Si Advocacy.
b. The fest will be held on July 26, 2019; in the school grounds.
c. All ECE and Elementary students and parents are encouraged to participate in this
activity to strengthen their bonds with their children and learn how to prepare a proper
nutritious sandwich for the family to enjoy.
d. The students should bring their own ingredients and utensils during the activity.
5. Nutri-Jingle
a. Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health subjects develops students’ skills in singing,
dancing, artistic literacy, and health awareness in which this Nutri-jingle combines all of
it through creating their own lyrics, melody and choreography, and their costumes to
release their creative and artistic skills through the maximum use of recycled materials
to maintain a healthy body and mind.
b. The contest will be held on July 25, 2019; in the Social Hall.
c. Each grade level should have 10-20 representatives.
d. The presentation should be in a minimum of 4 minutes and maximum of 7 minutes.
e. Criteria for judging will be presented to the representatives on the orientation.
f. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd placers.
6. Livelihood Activity Seminar-Workshop
a. Livelihood programs help every individual to be competent in improving his/her life
skills. Ermita Catholic School will reach-out to the nearby communities through these
programs.
b. A seminar-workshop in food preservation will be held in their community to help every
individual in nearby communities and also to promote the school.
c. The speaker is would be our very own TLE Teacher with the help of the Student
Coordinating Body to assist while being accompanied by our Parents Coordinating Body.
d. Expected audience are barangay residents interested in the activity. Parents/Guardians
and teachers are encouraged to join.
7. Urban Gardening Program
a. In line with the Laudato Si Advocacy, our school would start an urban gardening
program focusing on planting nutritious green leafy vegetables using recycled 1.5 L
plastic bottles to help reduce plastic waste in our environment.
b. The students would be required to bring one (1) 1.5 L plastic bottle as their pot for the
program. Unused container that can be recycled as pots are also welcome.
c. The students would be guided by our TLE Teacher on the proper process of planting
nutritious green leafy vegetables.
d. The students will bring their own soil and the seed will be provided by our TLE Teacher.
e. This program is integrated as performance task of the students in all the subjects.
f. The program will start on July 26, 2019 in our school grounds as closing program of the
Nutrition Month Celebration.
8. On-the-Spot Poster Making
a. Arts subject develops the students’ skill in expressing themselves in various forms.
b. The contest will be held on July 25, 2019; in the library.
c. Each grade level should have at least 1 – 3 representatives
d. Representatives should bring their own ¼ illustration board and art materials for the
contest.
e. Advisers, students, and parents except the representatives are not allowed to enter the
venue.
f. Criteria for judging will be presented to the representatives on the orientation.
g. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd placers in each division.
