prevalent in Southeast Asian countries. Plantain flowers are sporadically available all year-
round and it is a good source of vitamins A and C. So we come up to an innovative idea

V. The Market, Market Justification based on the Industry Dynamics and the Macro
Environmental Factors Affecting the opportunities and Threats in the Market, the Size,
Potential and Realistic Share of the Market.

The Market

Burger Plantain wants to establish a large regular customer base, and will therefore
concentrate its business and marketing on students, which will be the dominant target
market. This will establish a healthy, consistent revenue base to ensure stability of the
business. High visibility and competitive products and service are critical to capture this
segment of the market.

BP focus is on meeting the demand of regular students and teachers base, as well as a
significant level of local residents that are outside the school.

BP focuses on the lower, middle- to upper-income markets. These
market segments consume the majority of burger.

Students and Teachers

BP wants to establish a large regular customer base. This will establish a healthy, consistent
revenue base to ensure stability of the business.

Local Residents
High visibility and competitive products and service are critical to capture this segment of
the market.

Target Market Segment Strategy

Pulo Senior High School
Accountancy, Business and Management

The dominant target market for BP is a regular stream of students. Personal and expedient
customer service at a competitive price is key to maintaining the local market share of this
target market.

Market Needs
Because Cabuyao City is a populated place foods are very much in demand. During the
remaining warmer four months of the year, iced coffee products are in significantly high
demand, along with a slower but consistent demand for hot coffee products. Much of the
day's activity occurs in the morning hours before ten a.m., with a relatively steady flow for
the remainder of the day.

Competition and Buying Patterns

Competition in the local area is somewhat sparse and does not provide nearly the level of
product quality and customer service as BP. Local customers are looking for a high quality
product in a relaxing atmosphere. They desire a unique, classy experience.

Leading competitors purchase and provides high quality burgers with a variety of stuffing,
sauces and other side dishes and burger-related accessories and equipment, as well as a line
of premium fries, sell these items primarily through company-operated retail stores. In
addition to sales through company-operated retail stores, leading competitors sell burger
products through other channels of distribution (specialty operations).

Larger chains vary their product mix depending upon the size of each store and its location.
Larger stores carry a broad selection of whole burgers in various sizes and types of
packaging, as well as an assortment of burger making equipment and accessories such as
range, griddle, hot plate, charbroiler, exhaust hood, oven, microwave, fryer and filter system
.Smaller stores and kiosks typically sell a full line of burger, a more limited selection of
sauces and side dishes, and a few accessories.

Technologically savvy competitors make fresh burger and burger-related products

conveniently available via mail order and online. Additionally, mail order catalogs offering
certain food items, and select burger making equipment and accessories, have been made

available by a few larger competitors. Websites offering online stores that allow customers
to browse for and purchase burger gifts, and other items via the Internet have become more
commonplace as well.

Packaging

We will not only focuses on the ingredients of the product but also on the packaging
or- how we will present our product in an attractive way that the customers will
really crave for it. So we have decided to consider the packaging of the product and
it will depend on the buyers if they want their burger on a simple paper packaging
that we had prepared with a logo of our business, or on the high-end style
packaging which the burger will be on a classy box with a logo of Burger Plantain - if
they are planning to give it to someone or take a picture of it and post it on social
media. This high-end packaging will add a cost on the product which will be at P10
additional price.

Pricing

The pricing strategy that we used is competitive pricing, because since their lot of
competitors that are existing in the area of Cabuyao which also sells burger, we
have to lower the price and based the price on the market competition. Our
competitors charge in average. It means that their prices depend on the market
