Sentence is not directly used to tell what other people say.

The Kind of Reported Speech

If this verb is in the present tense, the sentence which reported no change.

Direct Speech : Marry says, “I like ice cream”

Reported Speech : Marry says that she likes ice cream

But, if the reporting verb is in the past tense, then usually we change the tenses in the

reported speech:

Direct Speech : Marry said, “I like ice cream”

Reported Speech : She said that she liked ice cream
