University application for the master.

Now days we find our self in an overpopulated word this mean that we need more, more

food, more energy, more resources and more space in this last part is were us, the civil

engineer, get in actions using sustainable infrastructure, we optimize space and recourses

to get the best with the less. As I was saying, using the knowledge of sustainable buildings

we can optimize the resources in our disposition to bring the most to the society,

something that I am committed to achieve. In order to understand my commitment, you

first need to know a little about my background on my last year of High School I was

doing community service by helping build houses to the poor people and I notice how the

people complained about the heat inside the houses because the sun, to understand why

this happened, I started to investigate and found that the reason was a bad housing

disposition and there were a part of the civil engineer that focuses on prevent this to

happen, Sustainable Buildings and Infrastructures. More recently I began to search for a

master program and I remember my senior year and looking for a good program in this

area I eventually found a good university whit a long history on improvement on the

infrastructure area and whit a very complete program, the Polytechnic of Milano, and the

program “Sustainable Buildings and Infrastructures”, a program which I will like to

participate on the next semester.

The whole purpose behind sustainable building is to preserve our environment, avoid the

depletion of the earth’s natural resources, reduce the energy consumption improve indoor

and environmental quality. For example, my capital of my country is on the cost, whit the

traditional methods of construction using concrete and steel the Eng. need to use more

concrete to protect the steel from corrosion, if the use a different method of construction

using a polymer instead of steel the use of concrete can be reduce reducing weight,
resources and money. For situations like the one previously mentions the so-called ‘green

builds’ are changing the way of construction.

As I was saying, to understand my interest on this area of my career I need to talk about

my background, after I decided to study civil Eng. and made some community service in

the construction area where I get in touch whit the concept of sustainable buildings and

during my colleges years I understood better the deficient of the traditional method

emphasizing my interest on the optimization of the builds. In order to get more skills on

the design of infrastructure during college I made some software courses like BIM,

AutoCAD and CSI ETAB, and made online courses like Renewable Energy and Green

Building of the Duke University and Civil Engineering-Structural Steel Design on

Uacademy, and of course I put all my effort on the college getting a GPA of 3.7. In these

moments before my graduation I decided to look for a master's degree focused on the

optimization of structures, afterward I found an article in a magazine which talked about

this program in their university, after a deeper investigation in the pensum of the program

and comparing it with the offers from other universities, I concluded that this is the best.

In brief, the green builds are the future of the civil engineer not only because it prevents

the deterioration of the environment but because it reduces costs during and after the

construction stage. I am qualified for this course not only because of my academic record

but my personal passion about the subject. To conclude, I applied to be admitted to your

program “Sustainable Buildings and Infrastructures” in the autumn period.

b. Talk about how you believe that this course can be apply, the benefits that you will
do whit the knowledge.
c. Say how you get interested in this area and how this interest guides you to this
course (in general terms).
d. Say the motive to the application (enter to the course).
II. Second paragraph.
a. Start taking about the benefits of the topic, refer to the point 'a' on the first
paragraph, then refer to the point 'b' and combine them.
b. (if you know any) Present problems that you believe that can be solve whit the
knowledge of this course.
c. Talk about improve that this topic is making on your career.
III. Third paragraph.
a. Abound on your interest for the topic, go to the past and say when you started to
be attracted to this area and why.
b. Talk about you focusing on the curses you have taken that can be related to this,
inside the university and outside, then say how you believe they are related. Use
connectors like "for this reason" to start the sentence.
c. Say how you found the course in the format of anecdote concluding on who you
feel.
IV. Conclusion.

b. Conclude the paragraph with a direct petition to enter in the course.
