Electrical
generators
The hydroelectric sector is characterised by a high level of
customisation, as each power station must be optimised
according to the hydroelectric resource available and the
configuration of the installation.
Gamesa Electric’s synchronous electric generators offer a
complete solution for small hydroelectric power stations.
These generators are designed in line with the specific turbine
parameters and the plant’s point of operation. The critical data
for the project is considered during the design process with the
aim being to guarantee maximum output at low loads, while also
ensuring the equipment’s reliability throughout its service life.
Our commitment to a quality product, with its associated high
return on investment, is attained through more than 80 years of
experience producing electrical machinery and by implementing
manufacturing systems based on highly successful industrial
concepts. In addition, the development of state-of-the-art
technologies, both pre-existing technologies and our own

Gamesa Electric’s generators cover the following range of
specifications for small hydroelectric power stations:
Output of up to 45 MW.
Range of speeds from below 150 r.p.m. (very low) up to high
speeds (1,000 r.p.m.) at medium power.

Francis and Pelton, among others.
