Preface

1.1 Title
“Tools Peeler Skin Apple”
1.2 Purpose
The purpose of this tool is:
1. Designing and implementing a system to facilitate the process of stripping apple skin to
increase efficiency and secure the fruit from the bacteria provided on the skin.
2. Study the working principle of apple peeler and this device can be used in the future for
some people.
1.3 Target
After making this paper, students can design "Apples Peeler" using several sensors
such as rotary encoder & proximity sensors, and actuators such as DC Motors, Servo Motors,
Pneumatic Cylinders.
1.4 Description
Apples are one of the most popular and most consumed fruits in the whole world. Each
region or country has different types of apples with other regions or countries. At first the apple
was planted in the area of Central Asia and then spread throughout the world. Apple plants are
very suitable to be planted in areas that have cold air. Apples themselves are very popular
because they have a sweet and fresh taste and contain nutrients that are needed by the body.
In line with the times, humans have created a tool that functions to peel apple skin easily.
The technology of this tool is very modern where the user will use to peel the apple skin, but
if done continuously, the hands will definitely feel tired. The purpose of choosing this tool is
to solve this problem by making an automatic apple peeler.

Motor DC
 Description
A DC motor is any of a class of rotary
electrical machines that converts direct current
electrical energy into mechanical energy. The
most common types rely on the forces produced
by magnetic fields. Nearly all types of DC
motors have some internal mechanism, either
electromechanical or electronic, to periodically change the direction of
current flow in part of the motor.

The function of the DC motor on this device is to rotate the disc
with a blade above it. Logic 1 when the motor detects an object, the DC
motor is active to rotate the disc.
Motor Servo
 Description
A servo motor is a device or rotary actuator
that is designed with a closed-loop (servo)
feedback control system, so that it can be set-
up or set to determine and ensure the angle
position of the motor output shaft. servo motor
is a device consisting of a DC motor, a series of
gears, a control circuit and a potentiometer. A series of gears attached to
the DC motor shaft will slow the shaft rotation and increase the servo
motor torque, while the potentiometer with changes in resistance when
the motor rotates serves as a determinant of the position limit of the
servo motor shaft rotation.

The function of the servo motor on this device is to move the joints
in the link section. When logic 1 activates servo 1 for right / left motion.
after the servo 1 regarding the limit switch, will activate the servo 2 for
up motion.

 Function in this Device
The function of the cylinder on this device is to take an object under
the cylinder. Logic 1 when the sensor in the cylinder detects the object,
the cylinder will be active (RET).
Proximity Capasitive Sensor
 Description
A proximity sensor is a sensor that can be
used to detect nearby objects without any
physical contact. A proximity sensor often
emits an electromagnetic field or beam of
electromagnetic radiation (infrared, for
instance), and looks for changes in the field or
return signal. The target sensor is the proximity sensor. Different
proximity sensors target demand different sensors. For example, a
capacitive proximity sensor or photoelectric sensor might be suitable
for a plastic target; an inductive proximity sensor always requires a
metal target.

certain distance.
Sensor Encoder
 Description
Sensor Encoder (Encoder) is used to convert
linear or round motion into a digital signal, where
the rotation sensor monitors the rotary motion of a
device.

The function of the encoder sensor on this device is to adjust the DC
motor speed as needed.

PLC
 Description
A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is an industrial computer
control system that continuously monitors the state of input devices and
makes decisions based upon a custom program to control the state of
output devices. Almost any production line,
machine function, or process can be greatly
enhanced using this type of control system.
However, the biggest benefit in using a PLC is
the ability to change and replicate the operation
or process while collecting and communicating
vital information. Another advantage of a PLC system is that it is
modular. That is, you can mix and match the types of Input and Output
devices to best suit your application.

The function of PLC in this device is to control PLC is used to control


the device to have output in accordance with the input given.
