6. Using a multi-language system designed specifically for India in languages such as Hindi, Urdu,
enabling ease of use by people located in rural areas and those without knowledge of English.

1. Telecommunications:
 AI: Currently the role of AI in telecommunications has been limited to chat-bots that can
automate inquiries, as well as route clients to respective agents. With improving
networks towards defined and virtualization technologies, AI could ultimately be used to
search for patterns within the networks and fix them proactively before any one is
impacted. AI could also be used in terms of network security in order to protect servers
from hacks or spyware.
 Blockchain: Can be used to identify fraudulent schemes which are often carried out over
phones. Companies can use the blockchain ledger to verify the persons identity. A
similar identity mgmt. methodology can be used to allow seamless transition for
individuals through their devices in a single password with low risk of hacking. Similarly,
they can use the tech to streamline digital payments by registering the apps and stop
fraudulent activities by unregistered people.
 Cloud Computing: Telecom software runs on dedicated hardware and
increasing/launching newer services adds complexity to the mechanism. Using NFV
technology (based on cloud computing), the networks can move network functionality
to software and make use of commercially available servers from IT companies.
2. Healthcare:
 AI: A popular use is the IBM Watson Health AI which is used in a number of disciplines to
assess patient risk as well as in advanced analytics and research such as creating
customized treatments for individual patients. Healthcare apps such as the Health app
in iPhone are used to gather medical data such as heartbeat, etc. from the user and can
be utilized by a doctor when treating the user. Another aspect can be in medical
imaging wherein the software can detect anomalies that the human eye may miss.
 Blockchain: Can be used to interpolate electronic health records from one doctor to
another and make sure that all available information is available to the doctor while
treating the patient. The above can also be utilized by medical insurance companies
who can then make specifically catered insurance schemes for their clients.

3
assignment - 1

 Cloud Computing: Robust backups of medical data. Also, during emergencies when
doctors are not available, an on-site practitioner can get real time guidance from an
expert with present medical equipment transmitting real time information.
3. Banking and Finance:
 AI: Many digital banks and apps that issue loans use a number of machine learning
algorithms to calculate credit scores and provide individualized rates to clients. AI is also
used by a number of banks to detect fraud through systems which can analyze the
client’s behaviour, location, etc. (e.g. Plaid). Another point is HFTs wherein the systems
can trade stocks and other assets in milli-seconds to derive profits, which would
otherwise be unseen by the human eye.
 Blockchain: Can serve as transparent and accessible systems to regulators and as well as
let them authorize transactions which comply with the regulations. Within the world of
finance, clearing and settling of transactions usually operate on a 3-day gap (T+3). With
blockchain, the settling and clearing would occur at the trade stage itself and can thus
decrease latency and counterparty-risk.
 Cloud Computing: Banks often have very sensitive data and such data can be stored
with hybrid cloud computing tech in order to prevent it from hackers. Digital wallets,
UPI, etc are examples of cloud computing.
4. Education:
 AI: Can learn from a student’s behaviour and form personalized classes for max learning,
which would otherwise have been impossible for a teacher managing a number of
students in a single class. AI can also help analyze test scores and help teachers know
which material needs to be retaught and thus hold the teachers accountable.
 Blockchain: Transcripts and such earned by students over their academic career can be
verified and recognized within the blockchain like ledger. This would make it easier to
identify a person’s academic accomplishments without fear of fraud.
 Cloud Computing: Cloud based libraries can ensure that student have access to the
required textbooks in a system that functions similar to an offline library. This also
ensures that there isn’t a situation where students can’t find a book if its been issued by
someone else. This also saves area and decreases use of paper. Cloud based materials
are easy to update, so students books will not get outdated and updated versions can
be available on the go.
5. Government:
 AI: Cybersecurity is an important concern with sensitive documents and files moving
around. AI can help assess the threats to the systems and suggest preventative
measures. AI can also judge irregular financial activities done by individuals such as
laundering, fraud etc. and help the govt identify these criminals. AI powered drones can
be used for surveying and inspecting remote areas and increase the efficiency of certain
departments.
 Blockchain: With blockchain, there can be transparency through decentralization
thereby enabling citizens to gain access to survey data and such in a timely manner.
 Cloud Computing: Cost savings to the govt. by saving the money spent on servers are
hardware and govt can gain access to independent servers at a negligible cost (in
comparison). This also simplifies collaboration among different govt agencies.

assignment - 1

6. Military:
 AI: Cybersecurity, especially since there would be a number of cyber attacks in order to
find sensitive military information. Target recognition during combat environments.
Battlefield healthcare through a number of medical bots who can provide support to the
military. Combat simulation is another imp aspect where AI can run outcomes and
provide probabilities regarding certain outcomes which can help the military take better
actions.
 Blockchain: Blockchain cryptographic encryption techniques can be used to secure
government and battlefield messaging and sensitive data.
 Cloud Computing: Seamless global data sharing across missions and between allies
quickly and efficiently.

Prevention methods:

1. Company could have used bigger servers (more memory)

2. Proper backing up for data

3. Quality control. Once the outage has happened proper compensating of customers

4. Use of third-party hardware to ensure proper sustainability

5. Use of cloud computing services provided by companies such as AWS, etc. and moving on from faulty
hardware to the cloud. This can also provide a smoother functionality to the users of the website,
provide better back up of data and ensure that such outages won’t take place in the future.

6. Use of Blockchain methods to store information created during the auctions. This ensures that the
data doesn’t get deleted, cannot be bypassed by would be hackers and can keep a proper history of
transactions to prevent people from auctioning fraudulent material.
