The Instructor
Dr. Bill Chin Man MOK is a principal geotechnical engineer and
hydrogeologist of AMEC Geomatrix, Inc. in California. He graduated from The University of Hong Kong and has worked in Hong Kong before pursuing doctoral study at the University of California at Berkeley. His 24 years of industry experience worldwide spans across multiple disciplines. He has directed numerous projects supporting the design and construction of bridges, buildings, locks and dams, nuclear facilities, power plants, tunnels, pipelines, landfills, water and wastewater infrastructures. In addition to his consulting practice, Dr. Mok participates actively in research and teaching. He is appointed as a Rudolf Diesel Industry Fellow and affiliated professor at the Institute of Advanced Study of the Technical University of Munich, an adjunct professor at the University of Waterloo, and a part-time associate professor at The University of Hong Kong. His current interests include surface water- groundwater interaction, hydrogeologic characterization, soil-foundation- structure interaction, dam erodibility, reliability and risk management, decision support, climate change, and carbon dioxide sequestration.
