Filipinos’ known to be competitive and productive globally.

With skills and perseverance, Filipinos

can move up to greater opportunities. Nevertheless, Philippines’ previous education system hinders every
Filipino to step up and be competitive locally and globally. Therefore, Philippine government implemented
the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 into law, more commonly known as the K-12 program. This
program implemented for the reason’s to make Filipino students be more globally competitive and for
the sake of Globalization. Globalization is how countries are coming together as one big global economy,
making international trade easier.

The Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 or Republic Act 10533, among others, added two years
in secondary education thereby delaying entry into higher education by two years. A lot of people did not
like this because they believe that it was just hard for the students to study on that too long years
especially to those who don’t have much money to spend on their school but still the government passed
this law. People don’t look on the positive side of it the main purpose of this k to 12 program is to enhance
the quality of higher education institutions, among other things, by helping them improve their
accreditation level, acquire centers of development and excellence status, autonomous and deregulated
status, and in their quest for global competitiveness.

Furthermore, this ongoing educational reform effort introduced by the Philippine government
intends to improve the efficiency of high school graduates. These Senior High School (SHS) graduates are
expected to become more competitive in the worldwide company field and give more excellence that
would contribute to nation-building and meet the rest of the globe. SHS graduates appears to be open on
opportunity to work inside or outside the country. There were some companies who considered SHS
education as equal to second-year college academic achievement. Most companies which have hired SHS
graduates noticed the later tendency to work only for a short period of time either because they are
planning to go to college or they just wanted to earn experience and intend to move to larger paying
companies.

Moving on, in the Philippines, globalization is important on how it works in the economy and the
development of the technology. Globalization helps each country to have a cooperation to help each other
and be united. Globalization is formed to process of goods, services, and people around the worlds. It
works to every people to move and work in a different country as well as the goods of each country can
also be imported and exported to a different country and destination. It helps every nation to develop a
global economy and increase the income of each country.

For instance, Marikina shoes were once famous, both locally and abroad, until low-priced
footwear from countries like China and Vietnam flooded the industry over the years. Sadly, Marikina's
shoe museum have suffered in recent years because Filipinos rather buy cheap not considering its quality.
Some local business leader said, "You buy Marikina-made shoes and use them for five years, then you buy
Chinese shoes for one-fifth the price but you can only use them for a few months,”

These studies were mentioned talks about impact and importance of globalization among
Filipinos and effectiveness of implementing Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013, known as K to 12
Program to Filipino students’ be more globally competitive. K to 12 program generally aims to help the
Filipino students
